Staying at AUKIYA was an unforgettable experience—everything I imagined and more when thinking of Japan. The property itself is a perfect blend of traditional charm and modern comfort. The Zen garden was a peaceful retreat, and the bathroom was immaculate and beautifully designed. It’s in an ideal location, close enough to Gion, and the option to use e-bikes made exploring the area a breeze. What truly made the stay exceptional, though, was the hostess. She wasn’t just the cherry on top—she was the heart and soul of the experience. Her attention to detail was impeccable, and you could feel the genuine care and love she puts into making guests feel at home. The breakfast was delightful and carefully prepared, and I can’t recommend it enough. It was a true honor to stay in such a warm, welcoming space. I’d return in a heartbeat.

We had an incredible stay at Azukiya. Our room was beautiful and our host went out of her way to make us feel at home. The location is great, just a short bike ride or walk from many of the main attractions around Kyoto. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic - a selection of high quality western-style breakfast items with a unique and delicious Japanese twist. We would highly recommend anyone visiting Kyoto to stay at this charming house.
