Perfect location! We had a wonderful, memorable stay here. Tucked in a gorgeous, shrine-filled neighborhood in Kyoto, this traditional ryokan featured views from our room of a beautiful garden, and way more space than we needed. We were comfortable sleeping on futons on tatami mats and listening to the rain falling on the roof. The room was clean, the ryokan was very quiet, and there was a private bathroom on our floor. Our host was extremely friendly, kind, and helpful. He ran down the road to get us a cab and brought breakfast to our room in the morning. Waking up and walking just a few blocks to the Kiyomizu temple was such a treat. Highly recommend!

Perfect for a “typical Japanese” stay. Very well located in old Kyoto, walking access to the temple, Buddha etc. and not too far from public transport (+ very quiet). Super attentive owner, very clean and breakfast. Do not miss! (Better in real life than in the photos). I recommend 100%.

Great location in a traditional area of Kyoto. I recommend it for the friendliness of the owner and for treating yourself to a day or two according to the most authentic Japanese tradition. Very good and home-prepared Japanese breakfast, tasty and full of flavours. An oasis in the central area which is very busy on weekends!
