I really can't find the words to describe the welcome and hospitality we received. The entire staff is incredibly kind and thoughtful, to the point of almost being unreal. The structure is simply wonderful, and you can feel the authenticity and history that it has conveyed for over 200 years. Inside, there is a public onsen, with separate areas for men and women, but our room had a private onsen. The room, in perfect Japanese style, is equipped with all the necessary comforts. Breakfast, included, is an experience that I highly recommend, especially the traditional Japanese one: an authentic culinary journey. It is difficult to imagine a more authentic place than this. Everything was perfect, and the experience of sleeping on the futons made our stay even more special.

Absolutely superb service, from the friendly greetings at the gate when we arrived to the smiling waves goodbye when we left. The dinner and breakfast were gorgeous and delicious, served in our room by our personal attendant who described each dish. Worth the splurge.

☆Sunny Rokaku on the Kamogawa River☆Seikoro, located just a short walk from Gojo Ohashi Bridge, is a famous historical inn that exudes Taisho romance. I continued to use the main building from last time, and when I entered the building, I was enveloped in a quiet and calm atmosphere that seemed to belie the hustle and bustle outside. For dinner, we had Kyoto Kaiseki, and I was impressed by how delicious it all was. After your meal, we recommend taking a walk along the Kamogawa River, or relaxing in a quiet room. The lobby displays items that tell the story of the inn's history, making it a feast for the eyes. The breakfast was also typical of Kyoto and was very fulfilling. Check-out was early at 10am, but considering the courteous customer service, high-quality food, and good location, it was a very reasonable accommodation.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was our first time at a traditional ryokan and it was such a great experience. The hotel is well kept and the long history made the experience even more unique (my boyfriend bumped into a few doors because everything is quite low). Despite the age of the hotel everything is well maintained and comfortable and the service was just so nice.Very friendly and hardworking staff 🌟We got dinner on the first night and breakfast for the other two days. Delicious and great amount of food 🍱♨️ the public bath was very nice and comfortable and a great experience too10/10 would recommend !

Excellent hotel if you’re looking for the traditional Ryokan experience. Despite the age of the hotel, the facilities are both clean and comfortable. The staff can all speak English and are very supportive. The bath space and the greenery within the hotel is also wonderful too. Finally, you have to try the breakfast they serve in your room!
