If you expect other guests to behave in public spaces such as bathrooms and dining halls, we recommend spending a little more money and staying at a different hotel. There are two baths, one on the basement floor and one on the upper floor, and I used each bath twice at different times for verification purposes. The basement floor had a strange smell due to the pool and poor ventilation, but it was spacious. The higher floors had nice views, but they were small and there were people waiting in line for the washing area.By the way, the cleanliness of both is a bit poor. The room feels old, but it has a taste and some people may like it. Snow bugs and stink bugs may get in from time to time, but let's do our best with the duct tape provided.

The worst hotel of all our trips to Japan. The services indicated on their site are completely misleading: no way to get a place on the free shuttle (we were told it was full, but we saw it leave the hotel half empty... That's pleasure.. and we were not the only ones in this situation!!), onsens and saunas under construction therefore very inaccessible and really not pleasant with the scaffolding and tarpaulins...., the restaurants are not open at lunchtime, staff unpleasant and incompetent as possible who doesn't even speak English, if you are a woman you will have access to the starry sky onsen only during the day so not great for seeing the stars (times are never alternated between men and women), the buffet is varied but tasteless, our room was in poor condition and very dusty... We tried to get a refund because it was a theft, but they have a small closure showing that all the services are visible at the time of booking may not be available during your stay... Thieves. Jozankei is nothing exceptional, we recommend that you visit Noboribetsu and its incredible onsens!
