The food, the atmosphere, it was great. The hot springs are not too large and are relaxing.Since I went during Christmas, the staff serving the food was wearing reindeer horns, which was very impressive.

This hotel is excellent in service. All staff are so enthusiastic and super welcoming. They took our luggage from parking lot to the lobby! And the room service for dinner and breakfast is amazingThe two meals included are great. Not huge size for dinner but breakfast is big.The onsei is milky. They have inner and outer ones. Very nice. The setting outside is so pretty. The tiny garden at the front is so cute.

Small and quaint ryokan that is close enough to Hell Valley and all the shops and restaurants via a short walk. If you want a ryokan that is more traditional and quiet, this is where you want to be. Both dinner and breakfast left us full and very satisfied. Although the onsen is small, it was not crowded and was thoroughly enjoyed. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

As soon as I took the Onsen Expressway bus from Sapporo Station and got off at Tsutsujibashi, Kashotei Hanaya was right in front of me. When I applied for dinner and breakfast, I was asked carefully at check-in what time I would have the meal and whether I needed a shuttle bus on the way back. I saw a lot of people when checking in, but I didn't meet many people when I actually went to the hot springs. It's about an hour away from Hell Valley, a nearby tourist attraction, but it's a walkable distance.

The open-air hot springs are also nice and friendly. It's an old building so it feels old, but it has all the amenities.

This is a good, private accommodation, not like the overly popular Japanese ryokans. It's a bit far from Hell Valley, so there's no convenience store nearby, but it's perfect for enjoying the hot springs after making a reservation for breakfast and dinner. The front desk staff are all friendly and some speak English well, and even if they don't speak English well, they understand and try to help in any way they can. I stayed in a tatami room, and it was clean and spacious enough for me to stay alone, and the bathroom was also clean. The open-air bath was said to be small, but not many people used it, and the water was hot, so I didn't stay long, so I enjoyed it quietly by myself. If I come to Noboribetsu again, I want to stay here. There was also a shuttle bus in operation, so it was very convenient!

There are clear pros and cons, but the cons can be fatal.Although it is located away from other ryokans in the hot spring village, it is not very far from major tourist attractions such as Hell Valley, and a free shuttle is provided to Hell Valley, hot spring village, and bus stops, so transportation is not inconvenient. The food wasn't bad, and the staff were generally friendly, except for a few. The quality of the hot spring water was also good. The advantages end here.Disadvantages worth mentioning are as follows:1. The main bath(?) is too small. It is suitable for one person, up to 2 people can fit in, and if they are close enough to touch skin to skin, up to 4 people can fit in. I laugh when I see it written as a large public bath. I think this is the biggest drawback.2. The difference between the meal on the first day and the meal on the second day was noticeable. On the first day, they gave us a menu and divided it into appetizers, main dishes, and desserts, but on the second day, they gave us appetizers and meals all at once, and many of the menu items were omitted. I paid the same price on each day, but I couldn't understand why the menu and service were poor.3. Cleaning up after meals is too slow. Even though I asked them to contact me when I finished eating, it took almost an hour to clean it up.4. Being away from the hot spring town can be an advantage, but it can also be a disadvantage. The atmosphere is not good because there are unidentified vacant buildings and closed hospitals nearby.5. Refilling the refrigerator (minibar) has been greatly simplified compared to previous reviews. It wasn't a low class room, it only had water.6. Considering all the pros and cons, the price does feel high.
