Stayed at the hotel Bel Air in Sendai during an academic conference at Tohoku University. Excellent location and excellent service. Staff are very friendly and hard workers. They are to be commended for their diligence. Definitely recommend staying here.

The price is GOOD value, Good for backpackers, students or people need only very basic stay. Location is good and convenience, 10-12 minutes walk to station. The 5th, 6th and 7th are non-smoking floors. …

Our room was a decent size, by Japanese standards, it was fairly clean, the staff was helpful, and there was a modest (average) restaurant on-site. …

Overall I enjoyed my stay here. The staff was quite friendly and I didn't find my in ability to speak Japanese to be a problem. The rooms are average-sized -- in other words, very small but as to be expected in a downtown area. …

This hotel is good as a business hotel for a few nights when you need a simple and affordable room. The interior of my room looked a bit worn, and you can see that it's not very modern. However, the breakfast was very good, I liked the Japanese option with very tasty warm and cold fish. This hotel is very close to Tohoku University, within less than ten minutes walking distance. Lots of restaurants are available nearby.

I recommend this hotel, especially if you are going to be visiting the Tohoku University campus as it's a few footsteps away. The hotel staff is courteous and helpful. I opted in for the breakfasts, which I thought were good.  …

It’s a great location to go shopping and have dinner in Sendai city. They have great hospitality and clean rooms with Wi-Fi access. It’s nice to get special amenities for women (bath bomb, face pack sheet, make-up remover). Free brewed coffee and water service at the reception. When it comes to the dinner, I recommend Japanese: 銀乃 Ginno, 氏ノ木 Shinogi, Italian: NOTTIvago, Vietnamese: AnNam, dessert: GERATI BRIO! Lunch would be soba and mochi at Yoshiizumi 嘉泉手打ち蕎麦 前田分店 is the best, which is short distance away from the hotel.

Really nice place with good breakfast. The location is at walking distance from the nearest metro but one might need a taxi from the main Sendai station. It is quite far from the airport, so is pretty bad for a transient stay.
