The location is excellent, next to the ski lift station, and about 6-8 minutes' walk from the hot spring street. The boss and his wife are very enthusiastic and will recommend delicious restaurants and good soup houses. Will visit again next time I go to Zao Kai

Excellent locationThe facility is clean, spacious and relaxing.The bunk beds were spacious and I was able to close the curtains so I was able to sleep well.It was also helpful that there was a water server.I would like to use it again ^^

Let me first explain that this place is suitable for skiing and resting. It is more like a hostel. The bathroom is shared and the room has bunk beds. It is not suitable for vacation.The boss is enthusiastic and has no problem communicating in English. He also asked the boss to help ask the ski instructor before departure.The first floor of the accommodation is a social hall. There is a bar at the bar in the evening. There is an oven, refrigerator, etc. where you can prepare your own food. Continental breakfast (bread, eggs, sausage) is available for 1,000 yen.The room has bunk beds and the space is not very large (the size of 2-3 unpacked checked luggage).Bathroom and toilet are shared.The location is very good. There is a ski shop next to it and the cable car station opposite. You can ski in and ski out without any problem.

Agreed with many positive reviews, location with ski lift right at door steps, price, big rooms and spotless massive kitchen . I think it is better then a 4* hotel, if you want skiing and Onsens - all within walking distance . A good bar with exceptional collection of whiskey 🥃

Shoes are allowed throughout the building. There is no parking lot.The rooms are simple, but some rooms have semi-double-sized bunk beds, probably made by the owners themselves.There is also a drying room (or something similar), so there is no problem with drying boards, boots, etc.There is a commercial-sized shared kitchen where you can freely use various types of tableware, cutting boards, knives, IH stove (200V 3000W), refrigerator, freezer, rice cooker, and water heater.I brought ingredients for a hotpot based on the information that I could use the kitchen, but I accidentally forgot to buy soup, so they not only provided me with soup but also lent me a cassette stove so I could eat it on the table. The owner was very kind. And at no additional charge...This is a ski resort that makes you want to stay here next time you come to Zao.

The owner of the B&B speaks good English. There is a public kitchen, the room is warm and clean, and skyin/out is convenient. The disadvantage is that there is no pick-up and drop-off to the bus station, but the overall feeling is great~

What a wonderful place! The room was spacious and right next to a gondola, chair lift, and a ski and snowboard rental shop! We were greeted with enthusiasm and genuine care.We got a map of the area and Ryoto marked out some amazing restaurants and onsens so it was easy to find our way around.The place was clean and large with access to a kitchen and a hot tub bath between 5pm and 10pm (men and women separate) so we could have a good soak after a day on the slopes.There is a spot inside for snow gear and the bar has lots of options!Try the plum wine... Oishi katta desu!

Riyo is the best! Great hospitality and conversationist! His selection of whiskeys is top notch, but not compared to his selection of canned meats! Be sure to ask for the Original Black Elvis when you stop by!!

There is no meal service, but you can get by at nearby hotels and restaurants.It seems that the new owner has reopened in December 2023, but he was very kind and I felt safe staying there.

I had a really great experience staying in Zao Onsen. Ryoto bought the business a year ago and is working hard to freshem up the place. He had some good recommendations for Hot onsens and grilled lamb restaurant.Would definitively come back :))

It was previously used as a restaurant and inn, but it has been renovated and operated as an inn since December 2023.The shared space and kitchen are quite spacious, so this is a great inn for groups to bring food, hobbies, etc. for a casual stay.The owner, Ryota, is friendly, has experience overseas and is fluent in English, so we recommend talking with him.

There is no parking lot, but you can drop off your luggage in front of the inn. There are no TVs or amenities, and it seems like you can eat and drink in the lobby. There is a beautiful communal kitchen and free Wi-Fi. Bathing starts at 5 o'clock, but when I got in, it wasn't completely boiled yet, so be careful. The closest parking lot is the upper parking lot, but you have to walk up a steep slope quite a bit to get to the inn. It doesn't seem to be a big deal as everyone is carrying their skis up the mountain. If you plan to eat out in the evening, we recommend making reservations in advance. It gets crowded because there are only a limited number of shops. Even after you check out, you can store your luggage while you ski! It's a very good and cheap accommodation.

Really nice place with smooth jazz and excellent customer service. The owner, Ryoto, is a lovely guy who just bought the business and is trying very hard to make it succeed. You should definitely come check this place out and enjoy all the effort the owner makes to give you the best experience possible. Would give it more that 5 stars if I could!!!
