This house is amazing! They provide luggage delivery service when we arrived early in Kyoto. The house was so warm when we enter (we stayed on end Feb on 5-8 degree outside). Perfect house for 3-4 persons. The mattress’s duvet is so fluffy. Their utensils are sufficient with cute welcome candy. They have complete amenities, such as face and body towel, hair brush, shaver, shampoo, conditioner, soap etc. The washing machine c/w detergent. Their bathroom is amazing. They got floor heater inside and the bath tub is everything. You can maintain the temperature. The garden view from the tub is so pretty day and night. They also provide bathrobe and pajamas. Basically, all you need to bring is just yourself. Not to mention the pretty interior. One of the best hidden gems we found in Kyoto stay.

We visited this "hotel" during July of 2023 after seeing a glimpse of it on Instagram and immediately falling in love with the ambience. As a couple it was a very romantic getaway, as the main defining factor of this stay was the garden view from the toilet. It was a peacefully sight while we took a bath or a shower and the added capabilities of granular temperature control for both the floor and water made it a lot more enjoyable - never have we wanted to spend more time in a toilet than we did here.Aside from that, the accommodation provided ample facilities from an induction stove top, to a coffee machine and to a washer/dryer. It is also fitted with 3 air conditioning units that sufficiently cooled the entire house albeit annoying, it is controlled by 3 different remotes (with different settings). The walls are fairly thin that we were able to hear our neighbours and people walking / vehicle moving in the wee hours of the night, which in turn, disturbed our sleep slightly.Furthermore, the unique design of the house can be a tad big haphazard as we had to climb though stairs just to get from the "master" bedroom to everywhere else. You may end up slipping and injuring yourself if you're not careful with your steps. That said, our stay was accident free and enjoyable and if it was not for the price, we would consider coming back here once again or perhaps try out different "houses" around Kyoto.P.S. We could not find a suitable location for our luggages but thankfully, we only had 2. A point of improvement would be to implement a space for it especially since it is design to fit up to 4 occupants (i.e. 4 separate luggages).

I booked this hotel because I saw it on viral Instagram video. The location is in a quiet neighborhood area in Kyoto so we had to be careful about rolling our luggages at night. The hotel was just like the pictures but I did not realize how many sharp edges and stairs there were. Since we had a couple luggages on us, it felt like we had very limited space and were climbing through the accommodation like it was a children's jungle gym or American Ninja Warrior. Unfortunately, my friend slipped on one of the edges and fell down the stairs. Additionally, the door was very thin so we could hear people chatting outside or cars passing by. The master (?) bed was very very creaky which was not ideal for an expensive hotel. On the bright side, we had friendly staff who came to do check-n and helped us reserve restaurants if needed. Their English was very limited but we were able to use Google translate to communicate. Also, there were plenty of toiletries for guests to use including water, brush, slippers, robes, etc. Furthermore, the shower area had a beautiful view of the backyard garden but I wouldn't say I would book this hotel just for the bathroom view. There was a washing/drying machine in the shower room but it took us 4 hours to do one laundry load which was inconvenient. Checkout process was very seamless and I was thankful that the accommodation was able to help transport our luggages nearby Kyoto station at a partner sake company. The cost to hold luggages at the sake store until 7PM was 550 yen per luggage.Overall, I enjoyed my time in Kyoto but I'm not too sure if I would stay here again. I recommend staying nearby Kyoto Station for convenience.

As the name suggests, it was an inn with an impressive layout of stairs. It was an interesting space with a bedroom, living room and dining room in the middle of the stairs. However, the bed was comfortable and the bath was stylish and relaxing.

A staff member will come to your inn to complete the check-in process, so you can rest assured even at this time of year. The bath with a view of the small garden was very nice and had a sense of openness. The bed was large and I was able to get a good rest. The location was also very convenient, so I would like to visit again.

I was interested in renovating old Japanese houses, so I used it on a business trip. Unlike business hotels, I was very happy to be able to speak my ancestors' language in a spacious and uniquely designed space. You can also walk to Shijo, so it's very convenient.A guide came to our room at check-in and kindly taught us how to use the facilities.Apparently there are 9 accommodation facilities in the same series, so I plan to use a different room next time.
