Use the cafe. The entrance is unassuming and even when you open the door, it's unassuming, but once you enter, the door to the right leads to a nice cafe. Let's move forward without hesitation!

This inn is a renovated Motoageya that was built over 200 years ago in the former red light district, and also operates a cafe bar at night. A place I've always wanted to go to.I was overwhelmed by the use of stained glass and tiles, and felt like I was in a special space. I was seated near the speakers, and the music that was being played was surprisingly good and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I was allowed to use only the cafe bar.Recently, it seems to be operating from 5pm on Wednesdays and Fridays.I went to Kadoya first to see Kinse Ryokan's DJ event starting at 3pm.It was built as a fried chicken shop in the late Edo period (about 160 years ago?), and was renovated into an inn in the Meiji period.Enjoy a unique atmosphere with stained glass, Taizan tiles, old furniture, and retro posters. The food is a bit limited; when I went there a few years ago, I only had warm taco chips, and the other time I only had raisin butter sandwiches, but both were very delicious. There are a variety of drinks available, and in addition to alcohol, the juices and coffee are all delicious beyond your imagination due to the atmosphere of the handwritten menu. Good sense. It's nice to see regulars and families coming and going, and some very homie moments. When I went to the DJ's music selection, it was ambient and low-key electro, perfect for immersing yourself in space, time, and sound.(Not very chatty on event days)It's not a store that seriously presents itself as a historic site.It feels like a playground for adults that takes advantage of the old architecture and provides a comfortable space and time to relax. This kind of Kyoto is also a core and real Kyoto. It is a valuable place where you can enjoy the deep atmosphere while thinking about Shimabara, which prospered as a red-light district for 380 years and then went into decline.

It's strange that some of the store staff are intimidating. It's a bit disappointing since the location is nice.

Gorgeous bar/cafe with a great relaxing atmosphere. Came here after a long day out and was the perfect way to unwind. Had the violet fizz, chocolate martini, and a tequila lemonade which were all amazing and super tasty! Kojiro and the staff were very kind and welcoming. Highly recommend

When I used the cafe before, my drink didn't come out for about an hour after I ordered it. I was constantly talking to people who seemed to be regulars who came later, and they were offering me drinks. I went home feeling uncomfortable.
