It's a bit of a walk from Kyoto Station, but it's close to Kintetsu Toji Station and conveniently close to a bus stop. The bread, rice balls, soup, etc. available at the shop on the first floor were delicious, and many people used them for breakfast. Honestly speaking, there aren't many restaurants around where you can eat dinner, so it's better to go to Kyoto Station. Also, the shower room is a little small. But the staff is kind and pleasant, it's a nice hotel

Great room, with more space than many in Japan. Breakfast was unusual, with no freshly cooked options. Staff extremely helpful. Would stay again 🙂

It is a self-service check-in/out hotel. The machine is available in Chinese, English and Japanese, and the front desk staff will also provide assistance. There are some basic supplies on the first floor that you can take by yourself. There is a Food & Drink Station on the right side of the lobby, and there is a coin-operated washing machine/dryer next to the elevator. There is a 1,000 yen currency exchange machine inside. When taking the elevator to go upstairs, you need to scan the room card. One card can only press one floor, but it is not required to go downstairs.#The tea bags provided on the first floor of the hotel are very delicious!

Really weird smell in the room……and for single room. They even blur the window so it looks like prison. Crazy part is the cleaning staff forgot the trash in my room……..

The shop is completely cashless (unmanned store...the selection is normal and expensive 💦) and you can't use cash at all! This was mentioned to me for the first time during the check-in and payment process, so it should be written more clearly on the homepage! The room (single) also had smoke on the windows and there was no view even though it was not in a residential area! Also, the refrigerator is small! Is the bathtub also a studio apartment? It's so small! …Is it really Hoshino Resort? I thought so. The only saving grace is that the room wear is comfortable. The staff also seemed to have a bunch of paper. I stayed for several nights, but towels were not replenished (worst rating at this point), and when I tried to contact the front desk, the extension phone "for some reason" wouldn't connect, so I had to go get them, and when I checked out... The staff members were absorbed in their work and did not seem to notice us. When I got angry and put the room key in the collection box (?), the customer came up to me and said, ``The way you checked out was wrong,'' as if it were the customer's fault...I felt angry for the first time in a long time while staying at a hotel. There is no lack of hospitality. I recommend looking elsewhere rather than staying here. Don't be fooled by the "Hoshino Resorts" brand name. There is a lie on the signboard.

The service was simple and good. Guests staying at the hotel will only have to pay an admission fee for the Toji Temple tour, which will be guided by the hotel staff. It was a valuable time.

My friend and I stayed here for 6 days. At first everything looked nice. There’s a nice lobby with a good cafeteria where you can buy all sorts of stuff. The reception lobby is nice, we arrived 3 hours before our check in so they let customers leave their luggage there so you can explore the city before checking in. However, when entering the room (we were on the right floor at first which is the highest of the building), we noticed a horrid smell of sweat and body odour. We weren’t sure if it was the Indian restaurant to the side of the building or if it wasn’t cleaned enough so we stayed one hour before deciding to go down to the reception and tell them that it was unbearable. I give the service 5 stars because the lady at the reception was nice enough to change our room to the 5th floor. After changing rooms, the smell was still present but less strong so we decided to stay. They were kind enough to ask us if we wanted to have ozone put up while we weren’t there for one hour to dissipate the odour even more. Coming back from our groceries and after exploring the city even more, the smell was gone so that was nice. We then found that there’s a gap which is shown in one of my photos that lets the ambient air form outside come to the room that can be closed and it all made sense afterwards since the previous smell resembles a lot to the Indian restaurant. After closing it up, there was no issue afterwards. As for the room in itself, the beds are comfortable; the TV is big enough to watch shows (I suggest to bring a chromecast so you can connect it via HDMI and watch Netflix) and the bathroom is normal without anything to add in particular. As for the location, there’s the Toji train station at 2 minutes walk but mostly for every activity we did, we had to take a train from the Kyoto station which is at 10 minutes from the hotel. It can also be noisy at some times because there’s a big road that is directly in front of the hotel so your can hear cars and motorcycles during the night.
