I stayed at one of the 88 hot springs in Kyushu. Conveniently located near the station and Kitahama bus center. It's right next to Beppu Tower.Since it was founded nearly 70 years ago, it has a Showa-era feel, but it is kept in good condition. There were quite a few people from overseas, perhaps because of inbound tourism. There are three baths: a rock bath, a cypress bath, and an open-air bath. The rock bath was there from the time it opened, and two more were added later. Regular customers seem to like the rock bath. Because it is a sodium and magnesium bicarbonate and chloride spring, minerals are precipitated in the rock bathtub. The spout is located in the back, and there is more precipitation in the back. The water was flowing directly from the source, so the temperature of the spring was a little hot. He said that the rock bath used to be a little lower down and that it had been pulled up.Basically, reservations are required, and you write the name of your room and take a bath. It was free during the night. If you drop by, it costs 500 yen, and you can rent one of them for yourself. If you were staying at the 88 Hot Springs, you could only stop by and take a bath, but it's also a good idea to stay overnight and take a bath. I'm glad it gave you a nostalgic feeling.

The hostess is very persistent.I am writing this as information for your decision.I previously booked a room at this inn for the summer of 2024, but unfortunately, I was worried that the transportation network would be shut down due to the effects of the typhoon, which was said to be one of the largest. Considering the recent problem of last-minute cancellations at hotels, we asked in advance by phone to inquire about the rules for canceling.I called because I thought it might be difficult to head there because the typhoon is in the path of the typhoon, but what will be the charge if I cancel due to the typhoon?...When I called the hotel and visited,What is the response from the inn?"We comply with the reservation site's cancellation policy."After receiving this one-word response, I reread the cancellation policy on the site where I made the reservation and found that it said "refunds are not possible." Well, although it was a natural disaster, this can't be helped. Cancel with full payment from the reservation site.At that time, I commented, ``I would like you to give some consideration to this as it is a natural disaster, but there is nothing I can do about it.''Cancellation will be completed at 8:00 PM on the 28th of the given month.Later, even though everything was completed, the inn contacted me.``Customers will be able to stay four days after making a reservation. At this stage, we do not know what the weather will be like in the next four days. Also, at present, the inn is not affected by the typhoon and no disasters have occurred.Due to the above reasons, we normally deal with cancellations (customer's convenience).(*Omitted, but almost the same sentence)Also, the typhoon information was on TV, and the news also said that my prefecture and the prefecture where I was staying were also on the typhoon route. In addition, I thought it would be pity for my inn to cancel at the last minute the day before, so I decided to cancel in advance. Even though I had confirmed the cancellation by phone and followed the instructions, I received a message like this at 11pm on the 28th of a certain month. Full refund after cancellation. Moreover, ``Currently, the inn is not affected by the typhoon.''Or so... since the route was to land in my prefecture first and head to your prefecture, it would have been 4 days ago. . .I contacted you because it's not a good idea to get a surprise cancellation. .I felt like my good intentions had kicked me in the back, and when I wrote a review here, I received a reply from the inn with the same content, and it seems that they identified me as the person who wrote the post.I was so disappointed in the reply that I deleted the post, but when I left a one-star rating, I was shocked to receive an even more sarcastic reply, probably thinking that I had identified it.I don't care about them anymore, so it doesn't matter.I'm sure you'll be happy that you were able to identify it.The reason I specify the date and time is because I am saving the exchange. This exchange became a hot topic on social media. Of course, we do not disclose the name of the hotel so as not to cause any inconvenience. As a piece of information for everyone.I hope you will use this as a basis for your judgment.

This is a hot spring inn located along the coast of Beppu. It is very close to Beppu Tower and there is also a convenience store nearby.Since the hotel is open for overnight stays, you will have to eat at a nearby restaurant, but there are many restaurants nearby, so I think you will have no problems. The inn itself is a fairly old building, so it might be difficult for people who are not used to such facilities. I think. I have experience with other accommodations, so there was no problem. There are three main types of hot springs, and you can reserve one available spot for an hour, and after bathing, you can reserve another available spot. It depends on the number of guests, but this time we were able to bathe in all three locations.

A reasonably priced ryokan within walking distance from Beppu Station. I can't deny that it's old, but I was satisfied with how spacious and well-cleaned the room was! There are rock baths, open-air baths, and cypress baths, and the rock bath had the most atmosphere. There was a big centipede on the bamboo wall in the cypress bath, so I hurried up.

I went to Higaeri. For 500 yen, you can rent a bath and use a high-quality hot spring included in the Kyushu 88 Onsen. The location is also in the city, so if your trip to Beppu is short, go here instead of going to the famous large hot springs!!
