I am writing a review after thinking about it for a few days. I also came to use the hotel after reading the reviews, so I would like to share my honest experience in the hope that my review of my two-night stay will be helpful to others. As I said, I made a reservation because the price was cheap and the reviews were good. But now I'm wondering if the people who wrote those good reviews haven't actually been to other ryokans. I have experience living in Japan, my Japanese is advanced, and I have been to several ryokans in Yufuin and other regions.First of all, I have no complaints about the location. It was exactly as it appeared on the map, and I also saw a review saying it made a train sound. Nevertheless, it is true that it is far from the center, and it is not a recommended place in Yufuin, where there is no other means of transportation other than walking, but if you are staying one night, there is a shuttle bus so you don't have to worry too much. However, the train is not close, and the train tracks are about a 10-second walk away, so the sound of the train rings next to your ear until about midnight. For me, it bothered me a lot because I went to bed early with my mother, but if I went with my friends and they didn't stay up late, it might not bother me so much. And the facilities... are really old. There is no large bath and there are 4 small bathrooms. Please note that the indoor bathroom in particular feels like a bathhouse built in the 1980s in Korea.Still, the above two things are okay, but the meal is really, really bad. I felt the same way, but when I showed the photo to a Japanese friend living in Fukuoka, he said it was too bad. I was very embarrassed that the basic side dishes were so few and tasteless, and even snacks were served as a side dish for dinner. Compared to Mebaeso, which is widely known as a cost-effective accommodation in Yufuin, this is not even close to school lunches. Rather pay similar money and go to Mevaeso. The rooms and hot springs are much cleaner, not to mention the meals.Lastly, what was very inconvenient was that during dinner on the first day, the worker brought the meal and told us to choose between two drinks: beer and Japanese sake. Drinks are usually not included in the meal, so I asked if there were any non-alcoholic drinks. So, I asked if the meal was included in the price since there was no non-alcoholic drink and I could choose between the two. Then I was informed that the price was included. Just in case, I asked twice and asked for a beer. However, when I asked again the next day, the employee in question proudly accepted money for the beer, saying that there was a misunderstanding in communication because he was a foreigner who was not good at Japanese. Of course, I paid for what I drank. However, I was very disappointed in the attitude of taking the employee's mistake for granted and taking no action.Even if this is not a happening, it is recommended not to choose this accommodation considering the facilities and meals. I am also uploading a photo of the meal for your reference.I went on a trip to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday, and I am so upset to have this experience. I don't know if you're going with friends looking for value for money, but never go there with your parents. Additionally, the sound insulation is not very good.

This price includes two meals, which are of high CP value and delicious. Free barley tea is available at the counter. Rooms are private for a small amount of time and there is a large hot spring bath. There is also free pick-up and drop-off from the station. I will choose this place again next time I come.

Yufuin was the most memorable place during my recent trip to Northern Kyushu. The intermittent showers felt more romantic, which made bathing in the hot springs even more enjoyable.I thought a lot about accommodations, but I think it was a great decision to choose Haas. The room was spacious, the air conditioning was great, the breakfast and dinner were especially great, and the location wasn't bad as it was only a 10-minute walk from the station.Perhaps because there were not many rooms, the atmosphere of the accommodation itself was quiet, making it better for healing. If you arrive early, you can self-check-in, and if the manager comes later, you can pay the hot spring tax separately at 150 yen per person.I plan to stay again when I visit Yufuin in the future! The quality of dinner was better than expected, so be sure to eat it!On the day of my return, it rained due to Typhoon Sansan, so I applied for a drop service to the station when I had breakfast in the morning before checking out, and arrived at the station in 3 minutes via drop on the way back.

Very nice little Ryokan. Few bedrooms (six) and an adjoining house (sakura house) if you need more space. Breakfast served at 8 a.m., traditional with rice and grilled mackerel. A hearty dinner is also very good. Very warm welcome and great kindness. There are two private outdoor baths outside (no reservation if it's open you can enter, you put the occupied sign and you close the door); one in wood for two people, and the other with stone and small garden can accommodate 4 people. There are two other working baths inside which are not open air. Bedroom with toilet, sink and large refrigerator. Very comfortable. There is a train track that runs right behind the ryokan and can potentially make noise and disturb some people. You can use mountain bikes provided, it's great to go for walks around crossing the rice fields or following the waterways. You are about 20 minutes walk from the station (bus or train). On the last day they kindly dropped us off at the station which we appreciated because it was not easy with our two suitcases.

It was hard to find the area around the inn, but we managed to get there. The entrance has a sliding door, and although it has the feel of a guesthouse, it has a cozy and homely feel. There are 2 indoor baths and 2 open-air baths, all of which are family baths, but there are only a small number of rooms, so you don't have to wait. It's quite calming. The food for breakfast and dinner was delicious, so I felt like I got a great deal for the cost of the accommodation. The room was 8 tatami mats and was large enough for one person.I also wanted to stay at Hasuwa Inn.

The room has Japanese-style tatami mats. The dinner for two guests is amazing. It’s fresh and delicious. The service staff is friendly. The hotel has bicycles to borrow. There are two indoor and two outdoor soup houses. It’s very convenient to drive by car. You can find the hotel just by turning on the navigation system.
