We had a wonderful stay at Ryokan Wakaba. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, and spoke English which was very convenient. They sent a shuttle to pick us up from our bus stop, which we didn't expect, and allowed us to store our luggage before checkin so we could explore the beautiful town and visit onsens. When we returned, our bags were neatly placed in our room. The room itself was spacious and had several amenities, such as a kettle with tea and a fridge. In addition, our room had a private bath fed by the hot spring! It was so luxurious.I highly recommend opting for dinner and breakfast. The dinner was very creative and themed for fall/Halloween. It consisted of several appetizers, courses, and dessert! You will not leave hungry by any means. During dinner, the hotel offered a turn down service where they straightened the room and set up our slepping quarters. It was such a nice touch. At every point during our stay, the amazing staff made sure we were able to relax. We were very comfortable and wish we could have stayed even longer.

Located in the Kurokawa Onsen area, a one-minute walk from the bus stop. The environment is beautiful and simple. The Japanese shogunate era wooden building. The service staff is very enthusiastic and courteous. The professional dinner is meticulous. It tastes good. I am full. I have a hot spring bath. It is really comfortable and decompressing. But it takes three days from Kumamoto. The only drawback is that the six-hour round trip by bus is more convenient.

The food was delicious, and the service was very attentive, including checking the meal contents over the phone in advance. A small room with a dining table in the corner room we stayed in became an independent space, perfect for doing a little work while away from the family.

I thought it was bad that the men's open-air bath was completely visible from the guest rooms in the building next door. There was an air conditioner installed in the changing room, but it wasn't working and there was no remote control. Since the outside temperature was over 30 degrees, I knew I had to put it on.The staff's service and the hot springs were very good.

2 idyllic nights spent at the Wakaba ryokan. The staff is extremely kind and attentive. Not to mention the magnificent onsen, the room is splendid, everything is close. And the meals (breakfast and dinner) are just incredible, very refined with local recipes and products. I absolutely recommend. Tattoos accepted. Thanks again to all the staff 🫶🏼🙏🏼, we will come back, these moments are engraved in our memories forever.

I was guided to a renovated twin room under the room-as-you-go plan. It smelled like wood and it was nice. The food was well prepared and the quantity was good for me. Since I was the only person in the room, the small dining room had no windows and was barren, making it feel like a prison. The bath is not very big, but there is an open-air bath as well. When I rented a private bath, large insects (that black one 💦) were crawling around and the floor looked like it was going to fall through. It came out quickly. 😔I'm sorry that I got a little blue about that. All the staff were young and very kind.I am grateful that even one person accepted me.

This is an inn where you will be very satisfied with the hospitality, food, and baths. I thoroughly enjoyed the delicacies of Kurokawa's mountains and Sachikawa, and I will come back to stay.
