The slopes and parking lot are close, and although we were a small group, the dinner and buffet options were well organized. It has a handmade feel. The rooms are spacious, warm, and well equipped with amenities. Drinks are also available at any time. It's one of the many small hotels near the first entrance to Ichinose, but it was clean and the bath was spacious. The staff were smiling and made us feel at home and had a fun trip. I want to go again.

St. Moritz was a very good value. A chairlift is directly behind the property making this venue ski-in ski-out, which I did everyday when staying there (appx. 2 wks stay). The staff are very friendly and helpful, and there is always tasty hot coffee available. They have an on-site restaurant which is usually open (small buffet style, good food). Overall this is a great place for powder hounds and serious skiers/snowboarders as it will maximize your time on the slopes. It is also centrally located in Ichinose and has access to perhaps the widest variety of restaurants in Shiga Kogen.

It's adequate for the price and convenient location. I agree with others that it's fairly run down and dated, but it's clean. The staff was friendly and as helpful as they could be despite our language barrier. The food was okay and fairly priced. There's a ski lift right behind the hotel and plenty of parking out front.

We stayed here for 3 days.Although the room was a bit old, it was clean and big. Breakfast and dinner were very attentive, and there were different foods every day. The staff was also very friendly. Near the hotel is one of the entrances to Shiga Kogen Snow Resort, which I think is very suitable for people who focus on skiing or snowboarding. And the price was reasonable! If we come to Shiga Kogen again, we hope to visit this hotel again.

I think it's cheap and good for the pure enjoyment of skiing (snowboarding). Especially if you enjoy après-ski, this will probably be unsatisfactory. I eat breakfast, go skiing, take a bath, eat dinner, and that's it. The foreign guests who happened to be staying at the hotel seemed to be at a loss. The on-site bar and boutique are closed, and the restaurant is not open for lunch. There is a bar and billiards table, but feel free to use whatever you like. In short, enjoy skiing and snowboarding to your heart's content during the day, and enjoy DIY activities after the day with the alcohol you brought with you. Shiga Kogen is large in scale and you won't get bored, so you can enjoy it to the fullest.

Good location but 1 star for serviceThe room is cold and dim, rather too dark.I can smell it, but it smells like a moss-filled aquarium. There won't be a second time, so I'll write this down as a commemoration. The good thing is that there is a coffee maker. There are some good employees. The atmosphere around the front desk is good.

Turned up for first meal and showed my Japanese gluten free card. They looked a little puzzled/concerned but hopped to and found the chef who duly pointed out what I could eat from the selection on had. …

If you don't worry about the details, I think you'll be satisfied with the price![Dinner] Semi-buffet (main + buffet)My friend ordered a hamburger and I want to try this next time. The main course is usually voluminous.[Breakfast] BuffetThe menu was the same as the previous day's dinner, but my favorites were the bread, coffee, and pineapple (probably canned). The taste is usually delicious[Bathroom] It's small, but the bathtub is deep and good.It was a little difficult to adjust the shower temperature.[Location] Quite a walk to the ski resortIt's a bit of a slope, so be careful.[Hygiene]I saw some criticism about hygiene in reviews. It certainly didn't seem very sanitary. There is dust and hair left in the room. The bedding sheets were folded, but they were dirty with dust. Are the cutlery, cups, plates, etc. in the cafeteria all dirty? If you are concerned about this, we recommend dampening a paper napkin and wiping it before use.
