This is my first time coming to Beppu. My husband booked this hotel for me. It's a very cute inn. The open-air bath and oxygen bath in the large public bath were really good. Dinner was also delicious.

Fantastic little hotel with spacious tatami floored rooms and a huge shower which is rare for Japan. From start to finish the staff look after you including checking in while you sit in the lounge overlooking the garden. Would highly recommend a stay here.

There was a nice Japanese atmosphere from the entrance, the rooms were spacious, and I felt that everything in the hotel was in good taste.I was comfortable not having to wear slippers, the tatami flooring in the elevators and bathrooms was comfortable for my feet, and I was able to relax in my indoor clothes. All the staff were kind and warm, and even though I was traveling with small children, I felt at ease. The bath was a little lukewarm, so I was able to take my time in the bath with my child, and the water was quite warm. All the dishes were delicious. thank you very much.

If you are a foreigner, do not go.Location is good and the hotel itself is cute, onsen is nice and breakfast is good (if you are into asian breakfast, otherwise you’re s..ed).However the service is bad and definitely not enjoyable for foreigners.Explaining about the service:It was plenty of rules - breakfast at 7, 8 or 9 and if they did not see you 10 mins after the agreed time, they would call your room. You cannot enter the hotel with shoes, but there are always problems on what to do with them. Worst one, you have to hand over your keys to reception without knowing if they will be open by night. This was unheard of, with me.They do not speak enough english nor they make the effort to translate/understand (they will surely not be the first ones to come out with google translate). I understand your language is spoken by many people, but in a hotel i expect at least some effort to support foreigners.

Used by 2 adults and 1 infant (bedding only). First of all, loungewear was never provided for the children. I was very disappointed because I thought that bedding included not only futons but also loungewear.Next, regarding dinner, we decided to order only a course for two adults and a la carte for the children, but although we had been told that the last order would be at 7:45 p.m., the children ordered ice cream for dessert. Since I wanted to eat, I asked the hall staff to order about 2-3 minutes after the last order. Then, to my surprise, he said, ``I'll negotiate with the kitchen.'' After that, my frustration peaked when I came back to the room and said, "It didn't work."In the first place, the operation was such that the hall staff did not come to take the last orders, and the rooms were also taken to private rooms, so orders could only be taken when the staff entered the room. If it's just one thing, but it's a little past the last order, wouldn't it be natural for us to be happy to provide it as part of our regular service and hospitality? (Since you are not ordering fried or grilled food after turning off the heat at the timing of the last order or throwing away the oil, it is probably the same as a drink.)If you are going to make a hard cut at the last order, you should make sure that you have the hall staff take the last order like in the local pubs, and if that is not the case, you should be flexible and provide hospitality to the customers. Shouldn't we do that?I was told that everything was at the head chef's discretion, but if they have this kind of service mentality, I would recommend that families especially with children do not stay there, and I doubt we will ever stay there again.
