Sekkasai is like a home away from home, with Chika San making sure we are comfortable and well fed! Traditional setting which is a good experience in itself!

For our first trip to Japan, my partner and I wanted to try a traditional Japanese experience for the week we would be at the snow. Sekkasai appeared to be in a great location and was reasonably priced for a week-long stay. …

We had an amazing dinner at Elvis restaurant (at Sekkasai). The food was beautiful and the company from the owners family made the experience. Very reasonably priced. Could not recommend this more highly! The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

We stayed here for 2 nights in December. The place is now run by Shin, his wife and mother-in-law as mentioned by a previous reviewer. They were nice, but perfunctory.  …

We stayed 5 nights at the this typical Japanese style lodge and generally we enjoyed our stay. The hosts are friendly and helpful and the main living room is very cosy with a roaring wood stove. …
