The food was absolutely delicious.Both the French full course and breakfast buffet were excellent.The only disappointing point was that the water pressure in the shower in the room was weak.I want to repeat it!

This is a long-established hotel in Karuizawa.I wasn't staying at the hotel, but was there for 10 days to do maintenance and renovations inside the hotel.During that time, I was taken care of by all the staff, and everything went smoothly.The manager and the linen staff were also very kind.As expected from one of Karuizawa's most famous hotels. I was very impressed. After that, I was able to use the hotel as a guest at the hotel's event ``Strawberry Fair'' 😄

I came today! I thought the inside was very clean and nice, but there was one disappointing thing: there was no public bath...The food was French and very delicious.Is the place a forest? It was in a forest-like setting, so you could feel the nature.The service was all very kind! The only downside was that there was no public bath.

When I informed them that I was arriving at Karuizawa Station, they came to pick me up within 5 minutes, and I was within walking distance, which made me happy.There were stairs up to the front desk. Also, there are stairs to reach the guest rooms.The customer service was very courteous.I left my luggage before check-in and went out, but when I came back, I was quickly guided to my room and my luggage had already been taken away.

[Additional note 2024] I had a full French course here for the first time in several years. The table settings were beautiful (including the flowers), and the food was even more delicious. The all-at-once START was also a little looser, and was designed so that it didn't bother me too much. [Previous review] I read the reviews and made a reservation for the French Dutch cuisine course. I had high expectations for the atmosphere at the entrance, but the food started all at once, and we weren't allowed more than 5 minutes before or after...it was a strange feeling. The taste of the food didn't suit me either. I thought it was very tasty for French-Dutch cuisine (especially since the main dish was meat from overseas). I was also concerned that the flowers on the table were not looking good.

I went there for a relative's wedding.I think the service was courteous.It's about looking at people...Perhaps because I was more casually dressed than my other relatives, I felt that the ordering and customer service was very sloppy.There seems to be no confirmation conversation for drink orders, so there are duplicates and orders not going through...I will never forget the condescending way the staff treated me at dinner and at the bar.My impression was so bad that I didn't want to give it even a single star.I think the hotel I stayed at had much better customer service.Maybe they're sitting cross-legged because it's a luxury hotel...

It's close to Karuizawa Station, so you can walk there.Because the building is old, there is no elevator, and you have to climb stairs both to the entrance and to the guest rooms, making it a bit difficult for people in wheelchairs.The room was clean and there was a humidifying air purifier.Although the bathroom and toilet are the same, it was spacious enough and there was no inconvenience at all.The windows also have double sash windows to keep out the cold and make it comfortable.The hallways and lobby are cold.The staff, other than those at the front desk, seemed a little slow to respond, but I didn't have a bad impression. Quiet area, the room has Japanese tatami + 2 single beds, the decoration is old-style, and the bathroom is too! But it is clean and comfortable. This time I stayed in the far side room and felt that the water pressure was not enough and the bath was not comfortable enough!Every day when you check in, a pot of hot water has been boiled and new cups and 4 bottles of mineral water have been replaced, which is very considerate!There is station and ski transfer!There is no washing machine, only a drink vending machine... I don’t ask much else. I am not very good at communicating in English. The lady at the counter will use a translator to communicate! The service attitude is very good!I didn't meet any other guests on the first day I checked in... I almost wondered if no one would check in after the Christmas holiday!

Personally, I feel that the hospitality is higher than Hoshinoya.The transportation from Karuizawa Station to the hotel was also helpful. If you arrive before 6pm, you can be dropped off in the hotel car. When I told the front desk that I would like to be taken to the station, an employee ran to my car and prepared it for me right away. Even though they weren't in such a hurry, I think they were trying to make sure they didn't keep us waiting. A long-established, luxurious hotel in Karuizawa.The facility is a little old, but has a spacious design and is clean. The only minus is that the bathroom and toilet are the same. The staff's response was excellent. This hotel has delicious food, so it's good to eat at the hotel, but it's also close to the old Karuizawa Ginza, so you can stay overnight without meals and go out to eat. It's quiet and the location is very good, close to Karuizawa Station.

My husband and I stayed for one night without meals.The room is very spacious and clean, and the lights are warm and soothing.It was a hotel that I would like to come back to next time with meals included.If you go on foot, the road is surrounded by trees, so if you are concerned about insects, we recommend using a shuttle service.
