I had a great stay and sleep here in this hostel! Host Sierra was very accommodating and she responds quickly! It was convenient to go to many popular places in Fujishiyoda area! Also had a great time taking pictures of Mt. Fuji around the area! Definitely coming back to stay here again when I climb Fuji next year!

Standard japanese hostel, clean. But :- not worth the price, toooooo expensive- the lady owner is a dragon, I think it hurts her tongue to say hello and thank you- there are rules EVERYWHERE, they treat you like a baby (more than 10 posters in the tiny toilet to tell you to wipe your butt, flush the toilet, close the door…) it’s annoying- no real common area, just the cheapest ikea stools in the hallway- no room for luggage in your room so everyone’s luggage and bags are everywhere on the floor- there are too many beds in the room they are like glued to each other it’s so inconvenient, they really wanted to make money- they won’t store your luggage after checkout or you have to pay (of course they love money here) nd if you stay after checkout they will charge you (even in the hallway, it is written on one of the 1000000 rules)In conclusion, for the price go to the hostels near the train station kawaguchiko :)

Great base for exploring FujiVery well organised hostel well located in Fujiyoshida. It is well situated very close to the station and a short walk to all the tourist hotspots. Particularly useful for a quick walk to the Chureito Pagoda when the skies oblige. The start of the Fuji yoshida trail is around 45 minutes away on foot. A convenience store around a five minutes walk towards the station. The staff were all very helpful and provided clarity on onward travel options. All English speaking and knowledgeable, not to mention friendly. The actual facilities were better than expected with a nice balcony allowing for watching Fuji at all times, watching the lights at night on the mountain is a bonus. The dorms are well organized and wifi consistent throughout. The beds are comfortable and surprisingly private and large lockers provided for bags to avoid annoying other guests. Very clean and well maintained the hostel provides an ideal base for independent exploration of the Fuji area. We ate twice in the Phillipine restaurant near the station which we enjoyed for something different and satisfying.

Mixed stay, good and bad points.Good,- beds are comfortable- Michael and his staff are very helpful and friendly- WiFi- locationBad,- needs a lot more ac. I think there’s two ac units in the whole place. One poor ac unit for a room of 10 people? Seriously needs to be looked at. Extremely difficult to sleep in.- nowhere to leave bags on day of check in or check out. Massive inconvenience when you pay a good price to stay here.

The owner is very unfriendly, almost insulting. The sheets had stains. We had booked a room for 4 but we could only put 3 foldable beds on the floor. They also refused to hold our suitcases for the day on our departure day.

A bit of a mixed experienceGood points:-the youth hostel not very far from the station-there is a 7 eleven and a supermarket near the hostel-presence of a code to open the front doorNegative points:-the manager, I found him a little cold-there is no specific place to eat or chat without disturbing others. You just have small tables and small stools along the corridor.... plus right next to the dormitories... So cross your fingers not to run into people making noise-I had the impression that the smallest square was optimized to put people. It was a bit complicated to move between the beds...-cleaning from 9:30 a.m. So not really the joy of resting after a long day of hiking. (For information, check out at 11 a.m.)

It's very cramped in the dorms, and there is little space in general. I was shown to dorm A and told to use a bottom bunk bed (contrary to what the owner says in their answer, I was not given a choice, so maybe not all their staff follow the same training), and I had to be very careful not to dunk my head all the time as it was very low. There wasn't even a small shelf for me to put my glasses on while I slept, so it's an unpractical hostel if you ask me. There is also little privacy as it's so cramped there. You're constantly walking on someone's toes. The staff are very nice, however, and they answer all questions you may have about climbing Mt Fuji. They also lend me a pair of walking sticks for when I climbed, and it really helped me!Nice play to stay for one or two nights, but 4 nights like I did was a bit rough.

The location is decentTakes around 10 minutes to the train station, but moren than 1 h to reach the closest lakeStaff is informative and speaks perfect english. The atmosphere unfortunately is not the best, as the staff is relatively cold and distant. The checkout is very strict and the cleaning staff starts to clean the rooms from 10 am onwards, making it impossible to sleep longer than that. There are only 3 toilets and 2 showers for more than 25 guest, meaning there is limited capacity of the facilities. The rooms are completely stacked with beds, meaning there is almost zero headroom for other stuff such as large suitcases. There is no common room, only 4 chairs in the hallway leading to the dorms and no kitchen. The owner michael seems to be a straight up and direct guy, making it entertaining to chat with him a little bit. He knows a lot about the local tourism as he lived in fujiyoshida for 30 years, and is not shy to share his perspective. All in all what we expected from the comfort of a hostel, with a few deducted points for service, capacity of facilities and very strict house rules.

Thank you for having me. Beds are comfy and it's very clean and well planned. The only thing I miss is a bigger common area for breakfast and hanging out. It's a bit small, but very cozy hallway. I understand it's not something they can change easily.I just came here to climb Mt Fuji and I had a good rest there. Please read all the information at the hostel about the mountain if you plan to go, fill out the form for the police for your safety if you go off season and ask the staff too. Be safe.
