I went to Fuji and stayed there for a night. We booked a non-smoking room, because of asthma. When we entered the room, a strong and distinct cigarette smell hit us, worsening my condition. We told the situation right away at the reception and they said they could do nothing about it.A few days later, we wrote a mail and the manager basically said we were liars and there was no smell. He also told us he could call the police if we gave the hotel a bad review on social media.Just go anywhere else, it is gonna save you a lot if trouble.

My husband and I stayed for one night during August (summer) in a double room nonsmoking. Bedroom area was very small so if you have oversized luggage (60cm over), I would encourage a bigger room. Bathroom was good, all essentials provided. Note that onsen does not permit people with tattoos, but you can cover up if coverable. To get there, we took a train to the Fujikyu-Highland station which was a 12 min walk (in the heat) to the hotel. It's well surrounded by residential housing so was quiet. There's a huge supermarket about 3 min walk away if you wanted to stash up on snacks, drinks, etc. We found some good alternative routes to get to Kawaguchiko, like getting a bus from Komeda coffee (opposite side). There were 2-3 buses that ran through every 5 to 12 minutes, not too busy either. Again, would recommend this place if you know how to map your way around (you would great a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains during winter!). If not, get a hotel closer to Kawaguchiko and base yourself around the train/bus station as it's all there.

A little old hotel but everything is fine and in good condition. Own hot baths. The useless wifi in the rooms at the end.
