I usually stay at a different business hotel, but it was nice to have a separate bathroom and toilet for the first time! The room is spacious, bath salts are provided, and I will definitely stay here next time!

It seems to be a combination of a regular hotel and a capsule hotel.1 night stay at a normal hotel (single room without meals). It's a normal business hotel. The structure is unusual for a business hotel, with the bathroom (large for a business hotel with a washing area) and toilet separate. There was a bit of a smell in the bathroom, but it was within an acceptable range.I'm glad that the bath is spacious, but it's a little inconvenient that the sink is also in the bathroom (it's a hassle when you want to wash your hands after using the bath and the tiles get wet). There are hangers and disposable slippers on the shelf.Pajamas are a type with a top and bottom part. It's nice to be able to set the air conditioning for each room. The ice machine is located on the 2nd floor where the reception is located.

We used a capsule hotel. I've been to quite a few capsule hotels, but the interior design is quite unusual. Speaking of fashion, it's true, but it's not very convenient. It seems that the power supply is inside the capsule, but there is no place to insert the USB. The changing rooms and lockers are small and not very comfortable to use. Also, there doesn't seem to be a smoking room in the building.

Interesting budget hotel in peaceful Tatebayashi. It has both regular rooms and a capsule hotel section, which is the one I used. Check-in needs a little explaining. There is a traditional, manned front desk and a self-service check-in machine, which can make you think you have to choose one or the other, but that is not the case. Check-in is a two-step process. First you check in normally with a human receptionist, who does NOT take payment, and then as self-service with the check-in machine, which does. Beware they seem to have a policy of not accepting walk-in's (the receptionist thought I didn't have a reservation and told me the hotel was fully booked, which proved untrue as the capsule floor was obviously almost empty that night) so don't just turn up hoping for available space. Otherwise, front desk staff was polite and professional. There is a quite smart set of tables and chairs by reception where it is possible to eat a takeaway from the 7Eleven across the road. The capsule floor (which is very unusual in being co-ed, whereas most other Japanese capsule hotels carefully enforce complete gender segregation) was warm and very clean everywhere, but there are only two toilets and two showers for a total of 16 capsules, which I imagine during busy periods could be an issue. Security appears incredibly lax. Basically, it seems possible to walk from the street into the building, then into the capsule floor and then into any capsule -there weren't any visible locking doors at any stage. The capsules are the futuristic-looking type, they have a TV (with only a few Japanese channels) and one international plug-friendly power point (clever idea) but they are obviously not sound-proof. As for breakfast, the ground floor houses a very attractive, quiet café which was serving breakfast when I left, although if you book a capsule rather than a room, you don't get the choice of booking a breakfast voucher, but I think it would have been possible to walk in, order breakfast and pay normally. As with all capsule hotels, this one is designed for people bringing almost no luggage -I only had a medium-size rucksack and still struggled to fit it into my locker. The cost is low, I am pleased I stayed there, I think I was lucky, and on quiet nights it is certainly possible to get a restful night's sleep in this place, but there are at least two other capsule hotels in Gunma Prefecture and I think I may stick to them in the future.
