A hideaway inn for adults where you can enjoy hot springs fed directly from the source in the Kusatsu Onsen area and a blend of Japanese and Western cuisine. This hotel is located on a plateau about 15 minutes walk from Kusatsu Onsen Yubatake. The exterior has European-style white walls and red bricks, making it look like you've come to the West. The inside of the hotel has a structure that combines Japanese and Western styles, giving you a retro Showa era feel with a modern atmosphere.Rooms are available in a variety of sizes to suit everyone's needs, from solo travelers to couples, families, and groups. This time we stayed in the largest deluxe room. This room has two single beds and two sofa beds, making it perfect for families and groups! There is also a large TV set up, so you can have a nice evening drink while watching a movie. The room has an atmosphere that is irresistible to adults, with lighting and carpets that give off a Showa-era feel. You can see the Kusatsu plateau from the window, but please note that the view may vary slightly depending on the room. Also, there is a unit bath in the room, but if you are coming to a hot spring inn, you will be missing out if you do not take a bath in the hot spring! After checking in, I took a short break at the hot springs. The bathroom isn't that big, but since there aren't that many guests, everyone is spread out to use it 24 hours a day.I was lucky enough to be there twice and both times were reserved! This inn uses the Bandai Mine Source, one of the six hot spring sources in Kusatsu Onsen, which boasts the highest amount of hot water in Japan.Kusatsu Onsen's spring quality is acidic and has high bactericidal properties, so it is said to be effective against skin diseases. The tingly sensation you get as soon as you enter is addictive. After relaxing in the hot springs, you can't wait for dinner.Dinner is a fusion of Japanese and Western cuisine, and you can enjoy hearty creative dishes prepared by a chef who worked in the kitchen in Europe. The cuisine is a fusion of Japanese and Western cuisine, so each dish is well-balanced and you can enjoy it while also getting plenty of nutrition. The menu varies depending on the time of year, but since it was winter this time, I was happy to have hotpot and salt-grilled rainbow trout! When many people think of salt-grilled sweetfish, they may think of sweetfish, but once you try rainbow trout, you'll be hooked. It is true that river fish have strong tastes, but if you handle and cook them properly, most of those tastes will disappear. In the case of rainbow trout, it has a very strong taste, so by sprinkling it with a lot of salt and processing the internal organs before grilling, it becomes a delicious salt-grilled fish similar to wild fish or ayu. After finishing dinner, I headed back to the hot springs. If I were to go to a hot spring inn whenever I wanted, I would end up going back to it over and over again. After all, if you soak in a hot spring for a long time before bed, you can sleep better than usual...After getting out of the hot spring, you can watch a movie in your room, research information about Kusatsu Onsen, look back at photos, and relax. As the hotel is far from the Yubatake and is located on a plateau, I was able to sleep soundly without being bothered by outside noises. After waking up and breathing in the delicious mountain air, it was time for breakfast.Breakfast is Western or Japanese style.I was able to have the best breakfast time while listening to the morning sun filtering through the foliage and the rustling of the trees. The volume was so good for breakfast that I ate it all before I knew it.There are a variety of hotels and inns in the Kusatsu Onsen area, each with its own individuality, but we also recommend this one.I think it's especially perfect for those who like the Showa retro feel or are looking for a hideaway inn for adults! If you are looking for a place to stay in Kusatsu Onsen, why not stop by?
