It's close to Kitamatsumoto Station, about a 15-minute walk away. It's a little far from the city, but it's super close to Matsumoto Castle. You can visit the ancient city in just three minutes' walk!In addition, there is a parking lot nearby, and you can rent a car to travel around. The parking lot is 600 yuan per day (price will be reset after 24:00), so overnight parking costs 1,200 yuan, you can evaluate it yourself! As for the B&B, except for the ancient house, all the facilities are very new, and the toiletries are good, and no cheap shampoo is used. All in all, this place is great, a place full of memories 😁

After staying in a number of cramped hotel rooms we LOVED our time at the Hippo. Great for families, can see Matsumoto Castle from the front door, easy access to the train station and the kids loved the space and complimentary hot chocolate. Extra points for the vintage massage chair and eclectic decor.

We stayed in this house for 3 days. We were 2 couples with 1 kid each. The house was big compared to other houses in Japan. Every minute detail was taken care of before we checked in. The kitchen had all essential cooking items including oil, salt, sugar, pepper. Tea, coffee everything was stocked. The house itself is very engaging with lots of interesting things. There is an area for the kids. It also has a map of all the nearby places to visit from Matsumoto and how to reach them drawn on the wall.We really enjoyed staying here and this place was the highlight of the trip for our kids :). Thank you so much for the wonderful stay.

Close to Matsumoto Castle. A dormitory inn that is a renovated old folk house. It was well maintained and I could feel the care taken to make it comfortable everywhere. Of course, it's an old private house (there are a lot of old things) and it's a dormitory (the beds are hard and there's no security), so guests should be prepared for that, but if you're choosing among dormitories, I highly recommend this one.
