Visited on February 13, 2024A guesthouse located in a village in the center of Kohama IslandThe first time I went to Okinawa was to volunteer at Ufudakiso and cut sugar cane.Daiichi's mother, Nobuko, used to run a guest house at the parents' home of South Island poet Daiichi Hirata, but she has moved into a facility on Ishigaki Island and is currently closed indefinitely...This building is filled with many memories of sugar cane harvesting and time spent on Kohama Island. On that day, I put my hands on the Buddhist altar while looking at the building of the guesthouse, and there was a mother and baby goat in the vacant lot next to me, so I played with them🐐

I stayed there with the understanding that they would not be able to provide food as Grandma was undergoing rehabilitation after sustaining an injury to her leg. …

I think it was originally a guesthouse run by an old lady, but it seemed like a young man working part-time was doing everything except the meals. Please note that the interior is old, the toilet and shower are shared, and the door to the room is thin. The refrigerator is also shared. The washing machine is free to use and detergent is also provided. There is an air conditioner in the room, but there is no TV, but you can watch it in the living room. Many people go to high-end resorts such as Haimurubushi, but it was nice to be able to experience the quiet life of Obama in an ordinary house. When I was there, it was the last day of the Obon festival, and the islanders in their costumes were dancing all night long to the sound of flutes and drums, and it was very pleasant.Morning only is 4500 yen

I stayed alone for two nights. The living room on the first floor can be used freely until 9pm, so you can relax and experience island time in your free time before dinner or after breakfast. It was a great experience to be able to sit on the verandah looking out at the garden, and I was lucky to be able to listen to my helper practice the sanshin in the evening. There is also free coffee and cold tea available.

Since my grandmother is very old, she does not serve dinner, so I recommend making a reservation at a nearby restaurant. …

I stayed for one night. I didn't have any meals, but there are shops like convenience stores, guesthouses/restaurants, and cafeterias nearby. Above all, I was impressed by the beauty of Kohama Island's sea. …
