I stayed with my 10 month old child.The owner was very courteous and I was able to spend my time comfortably.We were kindly provided with a baby bathtub, baby bedding, etc. In a hotel bed, it's scary to toss and turn, but this was a Japanese-style room with tatami mats, so I didn't have to worry about that and could rest in peace.The communal kitchen on the third floor has most of the cooking utensils, so it was helpful for making baby food and milk.You will also use it when you travel to Shizuoka (*^^*)♪

What a beautiful, traditional, quiet and clean guesthouse! Our family of 7 enjoyed our stay at Guesthouse Tessen very much during our 3 day visit to Shizuoka. The hosts were friendly and very accommodating of our needs, even going as far as to allow us the private use of the full guesthouse. (Sharing works too - but the experience then depends on whether the other guests are friendly and willing to share the common spaces.)The tatami rooms and beds were comfortable to sleep in, although we would've appreciated a few more pillows. Per traditional houses, walls are thin, so light sleepers may wish to bring ear plugs.The location was also great - easy walking distance from Sakurabashi station, super close to a 24 hr supermarket, and with parking space available. We also appreciated the host's sharing of a nearby restaurant (Uodai - highly recommended!) for dinner.Our one small suggestion is that we would've liked full size towels instead of the small washcloths provided. Other than that, everything was great. Thank you Yukiko and Takai!

I am grateful for all the information I received in advance, such as nearby restaurants with delicious fish dishes and long-established restaurants where memorial services can be held. The dining room was clean and the sleeping room was next door, so I was able to relax with friends. There is also Max Value nearby, which is open 24 hours a day, so it's convenient for breakfast.

The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The hotel interior is cozy, clean and very well decorated. Loved the art on the walls! The shared kitchen is well equipped and there is a mart nearby that opens 24/7 where you can get food ingredients if you want to cook. There are parking spots available for those who are driving around.

During our trip in Japan, we stayed approximately 2 months in Tessen. The guesthouse is well located, near a train station, and with a supermarket and restaurants within a 5-min walk. The rooms are cozy and decorated in a traditional Japanese style. The owners are lovely and were very helpful during our stay in Shimizu city.

Loved the stay.The house is lovely and the owner and his wife are super friendly, the even lent us their bicycles which made exploring Shizuoka a very pleasant experience. Would have been suitable even for larger groups. Can only recommend this place if you find yourself in Shizuoka!!

Private weekend rental for 8 adults and 2 children.I watched Shimizu S-Pulse x Tochigi SC and went sightseeing. Before our stay, we received detailed information about local gourmet food and how to get to the game via email.After watching the game, we checked in and were warmly welcomed by the lovely owner and his wife. For dinner, we ate seafood at a nearby Uodai restaurant, and in the evening, we bought some food at a nearby Maxvalu store and enjoyed ourselves in the living room on the third floor. There was a refrigerator, toaster oven, microwave, kettle, cooking utensils, tableware, seasonings, coffee and tea, etc. The bedroom was spacious and had two six-tatami mats on the 2nd and 3rd floors, so I had a relaxing and comfortable stay. The children were able to read the inn's manga and play card games and puzzles without any hesitation.There are also three shower rooms, so even 10 people could fit in smoothly. Shampoo conditioner, body shampoo, and hair dryer are provided.The design is Japanese style, stylish and clean.It was also a great accommodation for the cost performance.thank you for helping me.

I used it for my daughter's wedding in Shizuoka.Convenient location for shopping and free parking available. There is an izakaya right in front of the hotel, and within walking distance are a Japanese restaurant, a curry chain, a hardware store, and a supermarket with cheap meat.What is even more noteworthy is the personality of the owner and his wife!It turned out to be a wonderful trip, as they flexibly responded to unreasonable requests, such as procedures for national travel support and catering arrangements, which I had given up on.Now that I have established a relationship with Shizuoka, I will definitely use it when I visit for the night.Thank you very much for your help.

19 year old college studentI stayed at this inn, which was right in the middle of my trip across Shizuoka from west to east. It was a really wonderful stay. The owner was also very kind and warm, and although we were traveling with a group of men and women, he was very flexible and helpful. The facility was very beautiful and clean, and I had a comfortable stay.There is also a MaxValu (24-hour supermarket) nearby, about a 3-minute walk away, and a hot spring facility 10 minutes away by car, so it's very convenient. This time I came by car, but you can also rent a free parking lot, so if you come by car, you don't have to worry about parking. I was really surprised at how cheap the price was for such a well-equipped accommodation. I would definitely like to use it again when I go to Shizuoka. I'm really thankful to you.

This was my first time using it on a fishing expedition!It's run by a couple, but they're very kind and courteous. There's also parking available! The room was clean too, nothing to say!If you go, you'll understand what an inn it is 🥹
