The photos on the introduction page were very beautiful, and the Google rating was 4.8, so although it was a little expensive at 35,000 yen per person during the Obon holiday, I had high hopes for choosing it as a hotel to end my trip. I did.The accommodation plan was a semi-double twin Japanese-Western room with a shabu-shabu kaiseki meal featuring Tochigi Wagyu beef. When you arrive at the inn and step inside, you'll be greeted by the musty, old building smell that you'd never get in a good inn. Huh!? Just as I was thinking, the front desk for registering my books looked like the manager's office of an old condominium. Moreover, there was a welcome board at the entrance, but it was a kind of origami pasted on like you would see at a children's center in the countryside. The inside of the building is decorated with things that look like leftovers from a thrift store, and the wiring of equipment placed in the hallways is exposed. The room is spacious and very clean as it has been renovated, but as soon as you enter the entrance, there is a strong smell of cheap detergent or fabric softener coming from the Japanese-Western room next door. All the fabrics in the room had a strong artificial smell that made me feel sick.Even opening the window didn't help, and even wearing a mask, I couldn't sleep in the bed.(Only the toilet and closet had a nice smell from the cedar boards used during the renovation.)The newly built open-air bath was beautiful, but the indoor bath inside the hotel was old and had not been cleaned, with black mold growing on it, the mirrors being dirty and making it hard to see clearly, and the mirrors still being dirty. The hose was left out.The wiring leading to the open-air bath outside was exposed, the rain shield was a dirty plastic sheet, and the rain dome over the open-air bath was also a low-grade one made of PVC pipe. The food looked very good, but everything that was cooked had a terrible taste, and only the sashimi, Tochigi Wagyu beef shabu-shabu, and fruit were delicious. The hand towels I used carelessly during the meal also had a strong odor of fabric softener and was the worst. When I looked into it, I heard that it was an old resort facility that had been renovated, but it was very half-finished.I don't understand why it has such a high score on Google and travel agency reviews. It was the end to a very disappointing trip.

We stayed here for two nights when visiting the Nikko area. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Although the staff didn’t speak much English, they had all the translations prepared and quick access to Google Translate, so communication was not an issue. The bathroom system also worked very well - you can use any bath area privately without prior reservation. The food was also delicious.Overall it was a very enjoyable stay.

I stayed there in late July. It was so cool that I didn't need an air conditioner. I was soothed by the sound of the flowing river, and when I looked out from my room, I saw deer. I was able to relax in the quiet inn.The food was so delicious and plentiful that I couldn't finish it all. The bath is a private bath, but it was nice to have a system that lets you know where the bath is open. There weren't many people staying there, so I didn't have to wait.I thought that hot springs are hot because they are fed directly from the source, but I was surprised to find that it was hot.I diluted it with water and slowly entered the bath. The pleasant hot spring scent of sulfur made my skin smooth.I think this is a good inn for people who want to relax in a quiet inn.

Just far enough off the main road to give you a feeling of being in the woods and along a peaceful mountain stream this place situated at the base of Mt. Nantai and within walking distance of waterfalls and Lake Chuzenji’s shores is wonderful getaway to enjoy upper Nikko year round. We visited in early March when everything was still covered in a fluffy white blanket of snow. What I loved the most was the morning with a cup of coffee, watching the mallards 🦆 and common mergansers swimming up and down the river and listening to the morning chorus of song birds (nuthatches and chickadees) singing before the sun rose above the highs of Nantai-san. Their hot mineral baths (onzen) are sulfur rich and feel great to sit in a listen the the roar of the river below. Our room (201) seemed to be rather newly renovated with a stone bath and shower room that looks out to the river. The living room and bedroom are connected and also have a balcony that you can go out on and enjoy the natural surroundings. My little boy had great time running around the room and the playing in the common sitting room. There dinner was very delicious (sushi, shabu-shabu beef, noodles, yuba and fruit for dessert) and they’re wines too where also reasonable.

The inn accommodates 4 groups, but since it was a weekday, we rented it out exclusively. The hotel's location along the river, surrounded by greenery, and the sound of the clear river made it very comfortable. The baths were fed by natural hot spring water, especially the one near the inn, which had a great sense of openness, and the temperature of the water was just right. The private bath in the hotel was also spacious and nice. The yuba dish for dinner was especially memorable and I couldn't finish it.It's a very quiet environment and I would like to go again.
