I stayed at the townhouse designated by the university as part of a student research project to create a lively atmosphere around Machi-no-Eki and Asahi-za.The townhouse was larger than I expected and had plenty of amenities, so it was great. However, the auto-lock key when closing the front door was a struggle with fitting the sliding door, so I would have appreciated it if it were a little easier to close.

I visited in April. It had the feel of an old folk house, but was clean and comfortable. The electronic key for the sliding door at the entrance has a bit of a quirk, so it takes some getting used to locking the door. I felt it would have been more convenient to have a hand towel, but the kitchen paper provided instead was also helpful. There were many old townhouses nearby, and the area had a very calm and nice atmosphere. There are parks and the sea nearby, so I was able to really enjoy nature.I'm glad I came to Obama! Thank you very much 😊

It was such a beautiful place to stay in. We absolutely loved it. It was winter so it was quite cold in the house but all the heaters had been turned on before we arrived and it was perfect. We stayed for one night and loved the traditional atmosphere of the house. So quiet and idyllic. If you want a true traditional Japanese experience you must stay here.We rented electric bicycles for a few hours from the information centre in front of Obama station. The ladies there were amazing and so helpful in English. The weather was amazing and we had a great time.

The building and location were very nice! There is also a mermaid beach nearby, which is within walking distance! However, I was concerned about the scent of the air freshener or detergent in the room, and there seemed to be a lot of dust!I also thought it would be nice to have a screen door! The people of Obama City and the Wakasa Roadside Station Wakasa Obama were so kind that I wanted to go there again!thank you!

Stayed here with some friends to see Obama, and this was the best housing on our trip by far. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for us to plan and hang out. The townhouse layout is pretty funky. Highly recommended.

I stayed with 3 friends. I'm glad I was able to have the valuable experience of staying in a conservation area as if I were living there. Breakfast was also great as we were able to sample a variety of local specialties. It was nice to have breakfast and walk around the conservation area and the beach until check out at 10am.Bath towels, face towels, yukatas, and toothbrushes are included.Check-in is at a different location, so don't make a mistake. Also, the key is the PIN number, but it was written in a water-based pen on the paper they gave me, and it was raining, so half of it disappeared right away, which made me panic, so I had better take a photo with my smartphone. It's a shame that there is only a small unit bath, but I recommend purchasing a 600 yen Hama-no-Yu ticket and going there.
