Daisuke and his family welcomed us warmly to their home. We appreciate all the work that they put into restoring this old house and the artistic touches that they infuse into the space and the delicious food. Staying here was a highlight of our time in Japan and we’re grateful to have had the experience and nice conversation with such lovely people.

We were able to comfortably experience Japanese country life here. The owner's wife's cooking is delicious and beautiful and I feel they have made us healthy and happy. We will visit again in another season.

Staying here is a great experience to try out Japanese folk life! As soon as we arrived at the parking lot, we were greeted by an enthusiastic male host who helped carry our luggage to the room. Then the male host began to explain his process of building the house. This centuries-old Japanese traditional house was slowly rebuilt from the ruins by the male host. The room was spacious and comfortable, and we only received one group of guests a day, so we had the living room and dining room at our disposal. The venison prepared by the hostess for dinner was paired with wild vegetables from the mountains. It was really delicious. The chirping of insects and birds can be heard at night, and the bathtub for bathing is a hot water tank designed by the owner that can be heated with firewood or oil paper, full of classical and primitive atmosphere. I will definitely stay at this B&B again when I come to Shishi next time. Highly recommended!

Worth the journey and the price for the food alone. When you add the hosts, the beautiful old house and the surroundings, it's one of the best places you could possibly visit in Japan.

This is the most beautiful and authentic guest house we found in Japan. Daisuke and his family are incredible welcoming and generous people. He renovated the antique house by himself. We enjoyed dinner with the family and the Japanese food which was mastered by his wife. The view over the valley and the nature is a scenery one will never forget. Thank you very much!

I tried the tent sauna.From the sauna in the mountains overlooking the Yoshino River, to the water bath drawn from the mountains in a drum can! I was soothed by the sounds of birds chirping and the delicious air amidst the spectacular scenery, and before I knew it, I had been entertained for nearly 3 hours and was mentally and physically fit! When you experience the tent sauna here, it can only be described as luxurious. To be honest, I'm addicted to it. I highly recommend it for your accommodation plan. The accommodation was nice, and we had a barbecue in the evening.We had self-sufficient vegetables, red beef from the village, chicken, and even beef mozzarella for this amount and this price? ! It was a surprisingly satisfying stay. The stars are especially beautiful at night. I had a truly luxurious time. I'm really looking forward to visiting the tent sauna again soon.
