I made a hasty reservation a few days before the trip. There are middle-aged, friendly and warm clerks who can communicate in English. The check-in and check-out times were a little disappointing, but since it is very close to Kyoto Station, this accommodation would be a good choice for someone who is traveling to the Kansai region for the first time.Breakfast is prepared very neatly and looks like a home-cooked meal. The pace is pretty solid, and every day the clerk asks what time breakfast will be ready.Among the rooms, those next to Kyoto Station have good lighting, but since they are adjacent to the main street, there is some noise (I stayed in room 402).After checking out on the last day, I left my luggage in the Kyoto area to travel until the evening. Storage fee is free until 3pm, but after that, it is 300 yen per suitcase. (Still cheaper than coin lockers)There is a Lucua Mart behind the ryokan, so it is a good place to buy light snacks and beer.I was glad that the trip started here.

My wife and i spent 3 nights here. Super friendly staff. I love the breakfast setting. In addition, interesting rules and experience in the hotel. One thing I'd suggest to improve is that the mirror and shower head in the washroom are too low. I'm average height but i can't see above my neck when standing in front of the mirror.Room 3, staff 6, location 5, therefore on average rounded up to 5 for total score.

This inn is located in front of Kyoto Station and has easy access. It seems that there are many Japanese-style rooms, but I stayed in a Western-style room. There was a large public bath in the basement, and there were no other users, so I was able to take a relaxing bath.Although it was in front of the station, the room was quiet and I was able to sleep well.I was able to keep my baggage after checking out, but if I wanted to leave it after 3pm, I was able to keep it for 300 yen each, which was helpful. The staff were also kind.

Loved the ryokan experience. We stayed in a traditional room. I woke up with a sore back, sore ribs, and a sore many other things, which was probably a combination of the hard floor and the fact that I move around too much in my sleep, but otherwise, I loved sleeping on the futon.I liked the small Mitsubishi TV. I didn't know Mitsubishi TVs existed. And as an American, the coffee machine made me laugh! If you can read Japanese, you'll see what I mean. I love it.The view from the ryokan was also nice in the room we got.We had an awesome traditional breakfast in the ryokan, too. We were served delicious food. I remember the Miso, egg juice in a bowl (wish I knew what it was called), pickled plum, green tea... Unfortunately I forgot the rest, but I remember it tasted delicious! It was in a great location, too. I loved walking around nearby. Walked past many small ramen shops and cafes that I would have loved to go to if I had the time. Many great places within walking distance. There is a big, beautiful temple close by with lots of big koi fish and lilies in the surrounding moat.

Locking the doors at midnight and opening at 6AM is such a bad rule. Failed to let me know that the extra charge I paid to extend my friend and my stay for an extra night was only for one person. Such an expensive charge for an old-smelling (not sure how else to explain it) hotel thats not even full?? Otherwise service was really nice and the room is pretty spacious.

The facilities and room conditions are quite old. First of all, the room is not an automatic lock, but it is a facility where you have to lock the door from the inside and close it before leaving. The location is exit Kyoto Station, look at Kyoto Tower, and take the line on the left. It will take less than 7 minutes to arrive. This is a hotel that specializes only in location. The biggest drawback of this hotel is that the hotel doors are locked after 12 midnight. It's just like the store being closed. I asked the staff if there was another way to come in after 12 o'clock, but the only answer I got was 'No!!'... This was the biggest obstacle during the trip. I paid for the accommodation with my own money, but there is a curfew... Not even Geha, but what… haha…

The location of this hotel is excellent. It has the old-fashioned style inside which u could hardly experienced in other hotels, but they couldn't provide free bottle water for guests (all others provided in my ttrip. btw, the breakfast is ok since it is japanese traditional style, it would not so good if u wanna enjoy western breakfast.

There are also a few Western-style rooms. It's a bit retro, but it has everything you need and is clean. Best of all is the location.

This inn feels like a long-established inn in front of Kyoto Station.Although the building shows its age, it feels clean. Also, the hotel staff are very courteous. It was a ryokan that I would like to stay at again when I go to Kyoto again.
