Around 2000, I experienced my first lodging experience. I thought there would be something like a rag for the temple, like in the world of Ikkiri Ikkyu, but that wasn't there. Participating in Buddhist vegetarian cuisine and morning gongyo was refreshing.

Wonderful!Super peaceful. The outside onsen is amazing, staff is super nice and everyone is respectful and polite. There are several restaurants nearby and a bus station. The only downside is the breakfast, but that does not really matter. I would return for sure.Perfect place for a mental/physical reset

Nice experience had in this monastery in Kojasan. The monastery is a historical place with some historical pieces inside, interesting is the Samurai armor with the Christian cross dating back to when the feudal lord who wore it had converted to Christianity. The rooms were spartan but clean, the dinner, strictly vegetarian, was excellent. The only negative notes are: the shared bathrooms, the footon bed which was really uncomfortable and the savory Japanese vegetable-based breakfast in the morning (for an Italian really inedible). For the rest, a once in a lifetime positive experience. The morning prayer time with the monks was beautiful, strictly performed at 6 in the morning. In the evening they close the doors at 9pm and you can no longer enter (as much in the town and almost everything has already been closed since 5pm, so it is not a problem to return to the monastery at 9pm).

We had a great stay at Fukuchi-in temple. The place is beautiful, peaceful and we were lucky enough to attend the sutra copying calligraphy meditation in the night and the morning ceremony held by three monks. The vegetarian food was delicious and surprising and the onsen was great to relax. Thanks again for the hospitality!

I do not recommend it, since the experience at the place was a bit unpleasant. The bathrooms always smelled of urine and I even had bathrooms with shit on the floor. The onsen was also disgusting, full of hair on the floor in the shower area. I even had to use the shower to clean it before I could use it.

The accommodation service is very good, and you can attend morning classes at 06:00. Stayed here for 3 nights. Breakfast and dinner were varied, delicious Shojin cuisine, and wine ordering service was provided, so there was no need to worry. There are 2 hot springs ♨️, one of which has an open-air part, which is very relaxing ✨The courtyard is beautiful, you can drink coffee~
