Please go and try itIt was greatHowever, there are some points that you should know, so I will tell you about them here.Regarding cars, it is best to park 15-20 cars other than 4WD at the bottom. If you crash into it with a two-wheel drive vehicle, it will be a tragedy like the one in the photo. If you have 4WD, you can go to the second parking lot by Subaru or Nissan Toyota as long as you have good technique. It is impossible to get to the third gate without a Jimny. You cannot use shampoo etc. in hot springs, so you need to take precautions. There is plenty of free drinking water.Free refills of riceThe indoor bath is available 24 hours a day, but lights are turned off at 8pm, so headlights are required.*The hallways are equipped with electricity.open air bathGuests are free to check out until 8am, so it can get busy depending on the time of day.I think it would be a good idea to unpack your things first and take only your valuables with you to the bathroom.*It's possible to go out at night with headlights, but one wrong move could be life-threatening, so we don't recommend it.

I visited here to take advantage of "Japan's highest open-air bath." It was about 10 minutes away from where the mountain trail joins. After a 3-hour journey from the mountain trail near Inako Onsen in Koumi Town via Midori Pond, we finally arrived.I was planning to have a snack after using the open-air bath, so I adjusted my time and came back again. There was a menu posted at the shop, and there seemed to be a wide variety of rice and noodle dishes. Since I was particularly hungry, I had pork kimchi bowl and nabeyaki udon. The portions of both were just right, so I was able to finish them all. We also bought a badge and a hand towel at the shop as souvenirs to prove that we had visited Honzawa Onsen. The journey from the trailhead was quite difficult, but the open-air bath was well worth the effort. I think we were very lucky that the weather was so nice, especially while we were using the open-air bath.

The indoor bath and the open-air bath have different spring qualities. The indoor bath is brownThe open-air bath is milky white and has a strong sulfur smell. The open-air bath only has a bathtub. It would be helpful if there was at least a changing room.
