I used it for a family trip during the Obon holiday.The room was a nice fusion of Japanese and Western style. The view from the window was like a painting by Yokoyama Taikan, and we had a cool and comfortable stay.The lounge with free drinks was also great and I was able to relax while looking at the photo album.The food was also delicious.thank you very much.

The smell of sewage in the toilet in the room was disgusting. This point seems insurmountable.The other difficulties are at a level where you can close your eyes.There are many great things about it, such as the food, the view, the atmosphere on the second floor, the personality of the owner, and the location.I would like to use your service again once the sewage smell has improved.

I visited Chalet Shiga for the first time in about 30 years since skiing at NAISG. The food is delicious, making use of the flavors of the ingredients, and the futon is fluffy and comfortable. The stylish lounge with free drinks was also very nice. Waking up in the morning to the sounds of Japanese warblers and Japanese bush warblers is the best. The green season is also recommended for getting away from the heat.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chalet Shiga! The staff went above and beyond to be helpful and were incredibly hospitable during our stay. There was a delicious variety of food at the breakfast buffet and enough to fuel us for a day of skiing. The location of the accomodation is also perfect! The gondolas are a few metres down from the chalet and made it easy to access.

I am a fan of Shiga Kogen Beer at Tamamura Honten, and I wanted to go to TEPPAROOM someday and ski at Shiga Kogen, so this was my first choice.If I had to describe my impressions in one word, it would be "I will come again."Good cost performance. It feels clean.The building feels historic, but I like that it hasn't been completely renovated. Parts of the hotel have been renovated, and the atmosphere inside the building is a mix of old and new, and the tables and chairs are nice and relaxing.The lounge next to the front desk had a nice desk and chairs, free drinks, and I was able to relax. My husband was working with his computer open. The orderly rows of drink cups create a pleasant beauty.I ordered a cake online and picked it up at the hotel front desk to celebrate my children while I was on a trip, but I was very impressed when they provided a cake plate and fork knife for free. I had brought a paper plate and a 100-yen fork with me, but I was able to eat it with the hotel's fine cutlery, which made it even more delicious.I don't think it's possible to give such a small amount of consideration.I like Shiga Kogen Ski Resort, so I would like to use it again when the season comes.

I used it for a ski trip during spring break.Convenient location in front of the bus stop, even if it's snowing or raining. The ski resort is also nearby.Although the facility was old, it was clean and spacious, and the room temperature was warm and comfortable.The breakfast and dinner were delicious, and I was often impressed by how they were able to prepare so many ingredients in the mountains.The young staff are all polite, refreshing, and kind.In particular, the male staff at the rental shop was kind to us as ski beginners and talked a lot with our children. He was friendly and made us want to come again. (Good luck with your ski competition!) Thank you so much ^^

Very near to the slopes and bus stop. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Helpful and friendly staff. Love the chill out area with free flow of coffee/tea. My friends and I had a wonderful time here. Will be back again. Thank you!

See reviewsI decided on Chalet Shiga.It was very correct.Before stayingWe kindly received replies and answers to our plan changes and trivial requests.I was really looking forward to the ski trip.From check-in to the front desk staff, the atmosphere of the lounge, the cleanliness of the public bath, the staff at the restaurant, the variety of meals, the ski rental staff, the draft beer and staff at the TEPPA ROOM bar, and the entire environment. I'm very satisfied. Above all, all the staff at the hotel were very nice and kind, and we look forward to working with you again next year. Thank you for your help this year.What I always feel is that the owner's personality and the employees' polite and warm consideration permeate every corner of the hotel.The dining area for breakfast and dinner is as lively as an international restaurant, but it doesn't feel out of place. I think this is also because the staff are good at creating an atmosphere.Over the past few years, the hotel has been renovated and is becoming more and more comfortable, which makes me very happy.I'm looking forward to next year's evolution.There are many familiar hotels and inns all over the place, but I feel the closest to Chalet Shiga.

Ive booked our family of 6 for a 3 nights stay at this hotel about 2 weeks of our arrival and 4 of them are kids our bookings are automatically indicated that no meals are included specially Dinner time I also communicated with them 2weeks prior our visit if i can make a reservation for our dinner time but they just said we are fully booked with our dinner reservation during our stay you can try the restaurants outside. we were having a hard time looking for a place to eat during our Dinner time as most or all of the restaurants are reservation basis i just wish they could prioritize there guest during Dinner as they most probably knew the situation around the area during meal time specially guests with kids

Heating: No issue, in fact we left our windows slightly open for fresh airRooms are large. We stayed in the Japanese room. Clean and comfortable.Breakfast is sufficient although lacks variety. For 6 days we had same food.Ski Rentals were good and very convenient within the same hotelMain Issue: the onsen closes from 7.30am - 1pm. Breakfast starts from 7am. Ski slopes starts 8.30am. Wouldve hv very mych liked it if Onsens would close from 8.30 or 9am, so we can get breakfast, some time on the potty and a washup before hitting the slopes! :( :)Location is impeccable. Cross the road 100m ski down to the ichinose diamond lift. End day ski back on the pedestrian ice path. Practically ski in n out

Location: Ideal for visiting all the mountains in Shiga Kogen. A shuttle bus stops in front of the hotel.Meals: Breakfast and dinner are located in the same restaurant, and Japanese set meals are served.Room: There is room for remodelingBathroom: Simple but not badIt seems like all the bathrooms in this area are small.Facilities: Tuning was done at the ski shop on the first floor of the hotel.There is a discount for guests, and the skills are good.Additionally, the pub on the first floor sells a variety of beers.Staff: Above all, the staff are friendly.

As advertised. Not an exciting statement I know, and in no way a bad thing. As a westerner not having a private bathroom was scary, but not as bad as I thought it would be. The onsen was a very good substitute. Don't be put off by the prospect. The lounge was very nice and handy for our group, not to mention how good the coffee was. I highly recommend this hotel.

Amazing staff, very friendly and very helpful. Great amenities and close distance to everything you would need. 5 minute walk to ski lifts, under 10 minute walk to all sorts of restaurants. Highly recommend!

My mom and I stayed at Chalet Shiga for 4 nights. And we’ve experienced amazing and wonderful services in this hotel. Not only the food, but also the front desk manager’s kindness, all employees’ services, the room quality, the ski/snowboard rental service, the public bath, the safety, the teppa room service, everything in here made us feel like home. And also, the pictures that the owner of the hotel have taken has amazed me and my mom. We really love your photographic work! They are truly incredible and beautiful, it’s great to see them while walking in the hotel! My family and I have been to many places in Japan during winter vacation to ski. I can say that Chalet Shiga is THE ONLY HOTEL that makes me feel nostalgic, happiness, and sadness. Because we are really sad to leave this wonderful place.
