A lovely family run establishment with traditional tatami beds and shared ammenities. Hearty breakfasts always varied, stayed 7 nights and had a different selection each morning. Very affordable and very close to Kanazawa chairlift where you can also find a ski rental kiosk nearby to leave your skis overnight.Traditional free Onsen 50 meters away, but we preferred going to Sparena.10 - 15 easy walk to the village and stops, etc. but I highly recommend Tonkichi restaurant around the corner (make a reservation to avoid disappointment). Rotus Root bar next door serves spirits and nibbles, great for a nightcap before bed.Hosts are super friendlyh and even sat down with us for a “hotto” sake or two.Highly recommended.

The people at the inn are very kind, cooperative, and helpful.I was able to change my breakfast time, leave my luggage behind, and change my clothes at the end. . . If you have any trouble, I think it would be a good idea to consult with them.It's convenient because you can walk to Karasawa Slope at Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort and there is also a lift ticket office.There is an indoor bath, and although the hours are limited, it is easy to take a bath without leaving the inn.By the way, the closest hot spring is Nakao no Yu.The rooms are warm and have a TV and safe.However, since the building is old, the only problem was that a lot of stink bugs came into the building. I can't help it...

Jinya Nishikata, the main character of the movie "Hinomaru Soul"This is my parents' guest house "Aitoku". Inside the innNishikata's photos and trophies are displayed,There are jumpsuits and boards.Walk to the slopes (lift & lift ticket office)Good location, about 3 minutes.The meals are hearty and the indoor bath is spacious.Nearby "Nakao no Yu" is the best in Nozawa.This is a spacious and practical outdoor bath.1994, the year of the Lillehammer OlympicsIt was my first time staying there, and at dinner my husband (father)``My son won a medal at the Olympics.I was able to get it,” he said, handing me a 1-sho bottle.I was happy to see him pouring it for me.I still remember, now a former jump athlete.His eldest son is taking over.I haven't visited you for a while due to the influence of Corona etc.In the movie, the Nishikata couple (Kei Tanaka and Tao Tsuchiya) are realI felt nostalgic when I saw it being filmed inside and outside of the guesthouse.felt. I would love to hear about it next season.

We have asked for unreasonable demands many times, but each time they have been willing to accommodate us. It was a wonderful inn with such a wonderful hostess.

Beautiful tatami rooms with an amazing view of the slopes, lovely service and hospitality, wonderful baths (in the traditional Japanese onsen way) which were perfect for after a day of skiing. And only 100m down the hill from the ski lift. Absolutely loved our stay here!

The male owner (?) is quite pushy. There is no TV in the room even though it says there is one. When I asked the reason, I was told it was for NHK measures. No, just pay... The Airbnb page states that smoking is allowed, but when I asked, the entire building was non-smoking. I felt like I was staying at a cat's inn.

Great Japanese style lodging with shared toilets and showers. Very close (100m) from ski lifts the side of the ski field which has a nice gentle run and access up to other runs which run to the main gondola area’s.Rooms were nice and big and very clean, Japanese style beds in most rooms.Host very attentive and an easy walk into the main area of town. Plus nearby local onsens.Recommend as a no frills style accommodation that is still comfortable and great location.

Our stay here was made all the better because the lodge is owned by a long term local family who are fabulous hosts and love sharing their knowledge with guests. Make sure to book dinner at least once during your stay the food is fantastic and you will not leave disappointed by the quality or variety.
