We stayed at Hotarutei for one night, and it was truly a fantastic experience. The villa was brand new with very stylish and cozy wood-and-concrete design, great view, onsite private onsen, crazy fast internet considering the location, etc. Both Japanese dinner and breakfast were excellent, and the service by Iris and Joyce was top-notch. One of the best and unforgettable experiences in Japan ever!

The location is unbeatable for visiting snow monkey park and the villa itself exceeded our expectations in every way. We are so grateful we stayed here!!! We were only supposed to stay one night but we loved it so much, we stayed a second night, even though we already had a hotel that was paid for in Tokyo. It was truly the highlight of our trip!!!The staff made our stay even more special—especially Joyce, who was absolutely amazing from the moment we booked. She responded to all my emails promptly and was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Joyce and Iris greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel so special!!!Joyce thank you so much for going above and beyond, from answering our questions to arranging taxis for us. Your kindness and attention to detail made our experience truly unforgettable. Thank you also Rika! We appreciate your kindness on our last day.I do have to say the villa was absolutely amazing!!! It was perfect and we could not of asked for more. It had a kitchen, a washer and dryer, a private onsen, 2 bedrooms and a beautiful balcony. It was awesome, but the staff was equally wonderful!!! They were so kind and friendly!!! Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts!!!If you’re planning to see the snow monkeys, this is without a doubt the best place to stay!We look forward to coming back soon. Fantastic experience that deserves more than 5 stars. The people in the facility (Joyce, Iris, Yuka, the chef) are wonderful and treat you exceptionally. We stayed for 2 nights and ordered the dinner course for both nights. The food and treatment was extraordinary and gave a good insight in Japanese food and culture. The onsen after dinner was the cherry on top.

What a place! There is not another one like this on earth. Wonderful location, beautiful views, fantastic food, and the people are outstanding. Spent two days here and would have loved to spend two months. It is so peaceful and relaxing. Hotarutei Villas out classes the most expensive hotels in Tokyo. This place could easily be our home away from home. Would be happy to adopt everyone there.

A dreamy villa in a dreamy location. It was a bit of bliss and just the peace and quiet we needed to end a busy trip to Japan.

Staying at Hotarutei was a highlight of our Japan trip and a memory we will always cherish! The villas are beautiful, spacious, and located within walking distance of the Snow Monkey park. We had an absolutely incredible stay at Hotarutei - the space and villas are beautiful but more importantly the hospitality we received was simply oustanding and so memorable. Joyce was above and beyond in making us feel welcomed, cared for, and at home. It shows in every little details from the moment we checked in till the end. We stayed at a lot of great hotels but this one is by far our favorite in Japan. Book early when you still can!

We stayed here for 2 nights, and can easily say it was the highlight of our trip so far. The location is great, 30min walk to see the monkeys in a very quiet and peaceful area during the night. The villa we stayed at was so private with a stunning mountain view. We had our own private onsen which we loved. Food was incredible, Japanese style with all fresh ingredients.The best part about the hotel was the extremely friendly staff that make you feel so welcomed and relaxed. Joyce the host was so welcoming, greeted us with some wine and arranged transportation for us on the day we left.I would recommend anyone coming to the area to stay for couple nights as it's a must.
