We weren't hotel guests but went to the best hotel on the site for breakfast. 28€ per person without any service, no egg dishes or other highlights...we were simply completely disappointed.

Stay in September 2024.Beautiful old hotel in a top location on Juist. Also wonderfully high price. Per night from 300 EUR upwards. You can expect something there. The ambience is really wonderful. The rooms with terraces too. It's better not to choose the sea side because of the wind. However, the bathroom in our room had stopped in 1996. Shower curtain and rather small. This characterizes the hotel as a whole. It used to be really great, and now it's more of an effort. The sauna and swimming pool were certainly first class in the 1990s, but now you have to invest. Also at breakfast... actually nice, but the details are missing... On the first day, coffee, orange juice and eggs were served to the table, then it became less day by day. What also bothered us: every morning the Polish fitness trainer came to the table and advertised the courses. - Couldn't that be more discreet? Unfortunately, the guests are also mostly of the “money but no behavior” type. Then large dogs sometimes run through the lobby in the evening or ostentatiously get in the way during breakfast. The staff would have to intervene. Overall we had a nice time, but it was clearly too expensive for the service offered.

Overpromise underdeliver:The really very high potential of the very beautiful and great located hotel is unfortunately completely ruined by incompetent management and unfriendly and unqualified staff.Price performance is not right front and back. The quality of the dinner is more than modest. At prices >15€ for a starter and >30€ for a main course, you get inferior frozen goods and sauce out of the bag.If you express the desire to eat with someone from another room and thus expand the table, you are treated as “problematic”.For the first 4 days I pointed out every day that the electronics in the bathroom weren't working (sockets). I never received any feedback. There is no service at the bar. After we asked the three waitresses, who had been chatting amusingly for many minutes, whether we could order something, we were reprimanded because they wanted to finish preparing breakfast first. What is really very good is the breakfast and the very nice staff in the spa area. There doesn't seem to be a director on site.Really a shame. Conclusion: Never again. For the price we go back to Achterdiek and eat in the Küchenwerkstatt and in the Piovanello.

GOOD:Very nice, quiet location on the dunes with a view of the seaFantastic, white and time-honored hotel building from 1898 (former spa house)Centrally located on the main beachFriendly, helpful staffVery good breakfastSmall but pleasant swimming poolDEFECTIVE:Saggy beds with old pillowsFormer smoking roomsNot clean furnitureBad WiFi in the roomUnrenovated hotel rooms are not indicated as such when bookingFitness room very small with few equipmentCozy hotel bar is no longer availableRental bikes need to be overhauled or are partly brokenCONCLUSION:For a 4+ star hotel that is far too little. It also doesn't exude its own charming atmosphere. In view of the relatively high room price, the house is not a real recommendation. Very unfortunate.
