Nice hostel! We had room 18 with a balcony and had a nice view of the small pedestrian zone in Hahnenklee. The room offers everything you need for a weekend trip. Good beds, slept well. Gladly again!

I would be warmly welcomed with my dog (large) and suitcase (also large and heavy). Even though it was outside the specified time (after 10 p.m.), Philipp carried the suitcase into my room and gave me the most important information. The single room with a balcony is clean, big enough, with a refrigerator. I didn't use the shared kitchen. The café opposite is recommended. On the weekend I recommend the breakfast buffet in the “Coffee Corner”!I'll definitely come back 🤩

Booked 2 rooms for 4 nights over New Year's Eve.Both rooms and bathrooms were sparkling clean, well-kept, lovingly furnished/decorated in a modern way and the bed was very comfortable.A really nice hostel that includes a stand-up café in the basement. There is everything there to satisfy your little hunger or thirst. This offer is obviously gladly accepted; it was always very well attended.Possibly because of the extremely delicious mulled wine with which we had the thermos flask filled to enjoy on the balcony.Nevertheless, our recommendation:A breakfast offer or the appropriate ingredients for shopping would be great, as there is no supermarket far and wide to stock up on.The WiFi also needs some tweaking.Unfortunately we had no reception or WiFi in rooms 22 and 23. An evening can be long if there are only two programs on the TV.We had a medium-sized dog with us; he was a welcome guest. However, we found the size of the room very cramped with the four-legged friend. We would have liked to quickly remove the dirt we brought with us from the walk before we left so as not to overtax the cleaning forces; However, we couldn't find a vacuum cleaner or broom. So sorry for those"Legacies".The hostel is located in the busy town center. However, you can hardly hear any of the background noise in the house when the windows are closed, even though the balconies face the town hall square. There are plenty of restaurants within easy reach.Long walks through forests, mountains and valleys possible right outside the door.I'd love to come back just for that.Best regards from Schleswig-Holstein

Unfortunately, our stay this time was very unpleasant.During my last stay I had already complained about the lack of cleaning (in 3 days the room wasn't cleaned, swept, towels changed etc.). This isn't about basic cleaning, but simply about sweeping the room and hallway. Since (I also suggested this before) there are no floor mats in front of the rooms or on the balcony so that you can really rub your feet. So you drag litter and grit into the room and later walk through it barefoot. The beds feel kind of old, way too hard overall. The rooms didn't get really warm, even though we had to set the heating to 5 and leave it that way (2 to max. 3). Still, it was really cool. The rooms were not already warmed up when we arrived because the heating was completely off.At the first stay there was soap, shampoo, conditioner or lotion, toothbrush cup. This time nothing more. What was really stupid, since Hahnenklee-Bockswiese doesn't exactly have the best mobile internet, was that there was no WiFi on all days. The excuse for this was that the internet doesn't work during storms. However, the WLAN router simply could not be reached at all, regardless of the connection to the Internet. No attempt was made to find a solution for this either. Unfortunately, the rooms are also a bit noisy. In the middle of the night I almost fell out of bed in shock because the doors in the room below me were slamming and the conversations were loud. The highlight was the construction work in the morning. A relaxing stay was really not possible. We think the checkout at 10 a.m. is too early and not ok, especially in relation to the check-in time of 3 p.m. Standard is more like 12 p.m. It's not possible to have a relaxed breakfast and then quickly brush your teeth again. It is thanks to the location as well as the general cleanliness and timeless furnishings that it is enough for 3 stars despite the inconveniences.I usually find the price-performance ratio to be reasonable. However, given the shortcomings described above, this was not the case. Too bad. The owner couple is otherwise really very nice.

Booked a single room for me and my furry friend for the hiking week in September.A clean, modern room with a balcony including a kettle and fridge in a central location awaited me.There is a mini kitchen in the house for everyone to cook and eat together. There is also a well-stocked bookshelf, games and high-quality cosmetic products from Spa Alpin. The bed was freshly made and towels were ready.I felt very well.

Very modern rooms and very friendly staff/operators. Despite the room facing the pedestrian zone, the noise from outside was not noticeable. But as already described, the house is very noisy, if you sleep soundly, that shouldn't be a problem. The communal kitchen is very well maintained and we enjoyed using it.Price-performance ratio is very good.

Very nice atmosphere and nice staff. Was there for the second time. Rooms are clean and comfortably furnished. There is a communal kitchen that is well furnished with a small hidden dining area. Will definitely book there again.
