There weren't enough sockets in the room for 6 people. The service was also poor, the bed linen wasn't changed once throughout the week and if you wanted a new towel you had to pay for it. The location only has two stars because there is a Späti around the corner with very nice salespeople, absolute men of honor, unfortunately it doesn't have any Google reviews.

Very little recommended. Apart from the location, there is nothing else to highlight. Old rooms, very unfriendly staff, very expensive for what they offer. There are better options at the same price very close to this hotel. Citylight Hotel is depressing.

As a family, five of us spent 4 nights here and were thrilled. We had two adjoining rooms with bathrooms and enough space for everything. The entire hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Absolutely recommended for a Berlin trip as a family.

Stayed 3 nights with my wife and 2 kids in a room with bunk beds. Had a great stay, hospitality was great and the breakfast was filling. Had a recreation room in the basement and my daughter loved the mini cards that showed sights to go visit. Water pressure and heat were perfect and beds were comfortable. Location is a not the best as there is some rave close by that was loud until midnight and there is a park you may not want to be walking by on your way back from the train station. The station was close though and we had no issues. Would consider staying here again!

Highly recommended for groups of students, as there is a nice group room in the basement with play areas and comfortable seating. Service great, rooms large and clean, breakfast very, very good with plenty of choice!

Just had a great long stay here. Everyone is very helpful and polite (with one exception maybe). Good buffet breakfast options. Location is very good since it's walking distance to Gesundbrunen, but maybe the surroundings could be "fancier". Overall great value for money depending on the dynamic rate, I paid around 70 euros including breakfast with the long stay discount.

Rooms were fine for a small family, rather simple, but appropriate for a trip to Berlin where you spend a lot of time outside.Service was really great, drinks/snacks at the bar could be taken to the room. However, I find 16€ for a modest breakfast buffet with simple coffee and juice from the vending machine to be cheeky.

We arrived on Friday and were able to check in straight away at 2 p.m. Everything makes a neat impression. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Very important: cleanliness is very important here. Why only 3 stars in the rating? It's best to have a pros and cons list:Per:cleanlinessTransport connectionsParking spacesE-car charging stations (1x in the hotel and 2x in front of the hotel, 11 kW)Minibar and bar in the entrance areaReception staffed 24 hours a dayCons:Room extremely warm (outside temperature approx. 32°), heats up a lot.No floor-to-ceiling curtains, room cannot be completely darkened.Very noisy at night, which is understandable in a big city, but better glazing could help.Breakfast too expensive for what was offered, rolls/bread extremely dry. The milk rolls (probably from Aldi or Lidl) were also dried out, although they are usually nice and fluffy.Unfortunately the room price is 15-20€ too high, the same applies to the breakfast for 16€. I think €8 for breakfast would be reasonable, or it could be included directly in the room price, then it wouldn't be that important.A bit of music or local radio in the breakfast room would lighten the atmosphere a bit.Actually a nice hotel with a few “small” deficiencies that could easily be remedied. Sure, there needs to be investment, but that seems to be happening as the hotel is maintained. At the moment, however, it has a slight hostel charm that it doesn't deserve. My recommendation: Invest in heat/sound insulation and air conditioning. Install floor-length blackout curtains or even blackout blinds/pleats. Pay a little more attention to the freshness of the baked goods or that they do not stay in the oven for too long when baking.Update August 27, 2024:We are going to Berlin again and wanted to book the Citylight again. We decided on the MOXY by Marriot around the corner.Newer and a whole lot cheaper. I have attached the price comparison.I'm really sorry, but the Citylight is unfortunately far too expensive for what it offers.Moxy Berlin Humboldthain: €271.95 including breakfastCitylight Berlin: €393.63 including breakfastBoth searched via the hotel's homepage and not hotel search pages like HRS.No fares were taken or vouchers redeemed.@Citylight Berlin: If you adjust your prices to your standard, unfortunately it doesn't make any sense. If you need a "cheap" clean hotel with shared rooms, you're in good hands here. For everything else, I would recommend other hotels.
