Simple guesthouse with GDR nostalgia. Price/performance is okay. Breakfast good and sufficient. Recommended as accommodation for hikes lasting several days. Staff super nice and helpful. When you book the arrangements offered, you will be driven to the starting point and picked up again at your destination. Dinner is rustic home cooking. If the demands are not too high, I can recommend this guesthouse.

Quiet location in the middle of the forest with nostalgia guaranteed. Anyone who loved vacationing in the Harz during GDR times should definitely vacation here. In addition to hotel rooms, there are also small cabins for rent. There is a small playground and a barbecue area with enough small tables and chairs on the premises. You can also have dinner and breakfast there. We can't give any information regarding lunch as we were only there for one night. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and definitely sufficient. Room clean. Bathroom big.We'll definitely be back.

We were there on the weekend October 27th - 29th 23rd, we found a cozy guesthouse in the forest, with nice people at the reception, always ready for a nice conversation and open to wishes, room completely sufficient, clean and cozy, great bathroom. Breakfast was completely sufficient and we found everything. Top value for money for us! We're going there again.

Our family gathered there for a family reunion over the weekend.Our room was nicely decorated and clean.We were able to grill there and sit comfortably together on the terrace. Our children were allowed to look for horse mackerel on the site and then build a fire in a fire bowl under supervision...that was a highlight.The breakfast was also varied and enough for everyone.The waitresses were friendly and accommodating.The hotel is located in the middle of the forest. From there you can hike to many beautiful places (Straßberg, Güntersberge, Fridrichsbrunnen, etc.)Dogs are also welcome!!Of course, things can be renovated or repaired here and there. But nothing comes from nothing and this family that runs the hotel tries hard.We'd love to come back!

Very quiet hotel where the internet still works. Not always a given these days. The rooms have solid furnishings, the bathroom was excellent and fresh towels were also there. The small balcony is getting old and the playground was perfectly adequate for small children. On the whole it was great, but money would have to be spent to give the entire complex a makeover. The dining room exudes the flair of the 80s GDR. The staff was friendly and helpful.

All in all it's enough for one night.The facility is very old.A basic cleaning and general overhaul would be appropriate.The food was freshly cooked.Unfortunately the drinks were stale.The service was ok.

Very nice location and very idyllic.Only the breakfast wasn't great.We went to breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and nothing was filled up. I lost my hunger and paid €8.50 for 4 cups of coffeeThere was already a group of 32 people there. Who had looted the buffet.There was no egg left, no yogurt, just leftovers.Too bad for that.

Yes, what can you say, unfortunately I leave there very disappointed! Unfortunately, the houses are so dirty and moldy, the smell in these houses gives you a headache (smells moldy, moldy urine, etc.) We had a house for three people, in the house there was a bed for two people, you sleep on a slat that you can feel through the mattress, that was torture for three nights. Person number three sleeps on a sagging sofa, which is so dirty that person number three preferred to sleep on the floor, which isn't any better because the carpets are so dirty that you can only walk on them with shoes on. There is an additional charge of 40 euros for the sofa, even though the sofa is always there. Kitchen is fully equipped, yes, that's true, but none of the appliances are clean, oven, toaster, coffee machine, kettle, etc. Just rubbish bins! When it comes to the bathroom, there is a danger of fungus on every corner! The TV is in the living room just for decoration, it doesn't work, the only thing that happens when asked is that the guests always steal the operating instructions! You felt like you were being taken for a ride. Others would have said, I'll come with you and take a look, but nothing eats or dies there in good German. Yes to the staff: not very worth talking about, you don't get an answer to anything, you have to pull everything out of your mouth, conclusion is very unfriendly!The playground and the billiards hall are due for demolition - I have no words for it - if you let your children play there, you can send them to play on the motorway straight away! After asking on the phone whether you can grill there and bring a dog, you will of course be kindly told "of course" and after you hand over the key you will get a big bill for it!I can still write novels here, but it's not worth it to me, this hotel, as it complains, which is far from it, will never see me again!I've never written a review but I'm shocked by what I experienced and ask the operators to take some money and do something! There is also a lot to give away on eBay classifieds that is better than what you provide there, but please please don't call yourself a hotel and rip people off like that!
