Absolute lack of cleanliness. The staff at the reception is not as friendly as you would expect (no smiling face and annoyed impression). My highlight in the suite I visited for one night was silverfish, spots everywhere and a wasp nest somewhere near the window (4 wasps flew in in 2 minutes). In addition, defective devices and facilities. The breakfast is very manageable and of poor quality. Cheese stale and hard edges, cold cuts only pork, eggs still almost completely liquid inside, scrambled egg container full of water and the chairs in the restaurant were also full of bread crumbs from the previous day(s). Additionally, broken windows that cannot be opened by tilting, leaky shower hose, broken toilet flush and a burnt smelling hairdryer. The whole thing is rounded off with hair from guests in front of me in the room I occupied. The pictures speak for themselves. Paid €133 for absolute discomfort for one night. That was my first and last visit to the Lippischen Hof.

The hotel is old. But that's part of it when you stay overnight in a very beautiful old town. There is a small parking lot in the courtyard. The rooms were renovated, clean and tidy. Although there seemed to be few guests there, the breakfast was rich and everything you needed was there. We would love to come back again.

Good location close to the city center, within walking distance to some shops, great breakfast and very nice staff. There is a parking lot in the courtyard, but it fills up quickly. In addition, the exit through an old archway is relatively narrow and a bit difficult with large cars. But you can get a parking ticket for €2.50 and park on the opposite side of the street, for example. The room was OK, but a bit bland (no pictures on the walls, etc.).

The hotel has clean rooms, good staff hospitality, and a great location. The quality is hard to believe for 3 stars. Best of all, the breakfast is incredibly fulfilling. There is nothing to complain about in terms of selection, taste, and quantity. This is a hotel that will make you want to come back again.

The pretty hotel is ideally located for visiting the city, right at the entrance to the pedestrian zone on a quite lively street. Thanks to the double windows it is quiet enough.The rooms are attractively furnished and equipped.The owners and a super nice and considerate team of employees ensure a feel-good stay.The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired, the vaulted cellar, restaurant and terrace have a great atmosphere, the varied menu and the reasonable price-performance ratio round off the consistently positive impression.

Now you've answered, and I'm wondering what difference it makes that I don't spend the night with you. Does that mean I've never done this before? And what does the time of my comment have to do with that in any way?My stay at the Lippischer Hof was simply unacceptable. I would have written to them privately, but it was so extreme that it seemed inappropriate to extend that courtesy. Because what I received as a room was simply without any respect and against any dignity. The floor was dirty, there were cobwebs all around, the bathroom wasn't clean, the window was difficult to close, the curtains were like a mixture of old fabric ends. I have been visiting Detmold since my childhood and came to your hotel for the first time. I thought it would definitely be nice. The fact that I had to spend over 100 euros for such an impertinence was a real shame. At that time the circumstances were such that I was only in Detmold for a very short time for a funeral and therefore didn't have the energy to report anything to the hotel. Now Google asked me for a review. It was really very embarrassing and felt fraudulent.

We were very impressed… Good location, parking space in the inner courtyard (tip: ask for availability shortly before arrival), friendly welcome, newly renovated rooms, rich breakfast buffet. We didn't visit the restaurant because the selection of vegetarian dishes was limited, but the ambience and the other offerings on the menu made a very good impression.
