I recently stayed at the Hotel “Am Basler Tor” and would like to share my experiences. The hotel has an excellent location, right in the heart of the city and in close proximity to many attractions and transport links. The rooms are clean and well-equipped, which made my stay very pleasant. The staff was consistently friendly and helpful, always willing to answer questions or fulfill additional requests.A small disadvantage was that the hotel does not offer breakfast. However, there are numerous cafes and bakeries in the area that offer a wide range of breakfast options.Overall, my stay at the Hotel “Am Basler Tor” was very satisfactory. Despite the lack of breakfast, I highly recommend it due to its location, cleanliness and friendly staff.I hope this review is helpful!

Too noisy, kept awake all night even with earplugs. No air conditioning or fan, I asked for a fan and was fortunately not able to do otherwise. Very noisy and very small rooms. If you're just passing through, okay, but not here anymore! Nice staff for sure! Price far too high in comparison!

We were passing through and only spent one night here. The owner was very friendly and showed everything. The hotel is a good alternative if you are only there for a short time and don't want to stay overnight in Basel. Price/performance is right. There are a few parking spaces in the back yard, so you'll probably have to be lucky there. There is currently a construction site behind the hotel, which is why you can't sleep after 7 a.m. during the week. Unfortunately, this is very annoying.

Room and bathroom were very clean! Unfortunately we had a room under the attic (unbearably hot with daytime temperatures of 30 degrees). The pedestal fan was nice, but it didn't cool down enough. i.e. 2 sleepless nights... and then also facing the street, which was very loud. The 5 mosquitoes gave us the rest. Mosquito screens would be great if you have to leave the windows open. The mattresses were good. Communication went perfectly!

Fine hotel to stay in if you are passing through. Beautiful room, nice beds and we could even arrive very late at night while the staff waited for us. Overall great experience for little money.

If you can, avoid this hotel at all cost. Staff extremely incompetent and even rude to the customers. You will not feel welcomed at this place. Besides, rooms are very smelly. Cannot recommend this place at all.
