If you need a simple hotel for 1 night and you can get by with the basics - this is the perfect place for you. The hotel looks like a remnant of a historic building, the rooms are simple, their best years were about 10 years ago. …

All previous negative views are true. Lobby was reeking like anything. Breakfast is very plain and simple so don’t get attracted by it. Service at the breakfast refilling was snail fast. Area is little bit ok. But you can afford something better. Cheap is not the best !!

I booked this hotel because of its locality, which in fact IS great! A short walk to the City Centre with the Kölner Dom etc. However, travelling with the family, I was not happy the hotel being sandwiched between adult entertainment shops. Also, there is no parking, unless you want to either dare parking unpaid due to your arrival and departure times or having to find a machine-paid car park space in the vicinity. The TV did not wok in one of our two rooms. But for a short night's stay it was alright.

Currently staying here and it's a great location but the rooms are quite small and dated. The reason I rated the service so low is because they say if you don't get your room cleaned they will offer you a drink at the hotel. I had put out my do not disturb sign for two days as I didn't need my room cleaned and I thought a free cocktail would be nice after exploring the town. They said they wouldn't give me a free drink because I had the do not disturb sign out and not the free drink sign out. I don't really see the difference as both ways the room is not cleaned. Oh, and the free drink is a bottle of water, not a beer or cocktail.

Excellent location with good breakfasts. Came for EUROS and there was no TV working and safe was jammed shut. Staff said there was a problem with TV reception but gave us a key for the safe. Not good having no TV when football was on. Almost as inept a performance as Scotland played in Munich! Felt stay was overpriced.

I have stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, because of the easter holiday and i liked it. The interior design is preserved from it’s first establishment in 1200’s which matches with the city’s old charm. The rooms are quiet and clean, there is cleaning service everyday. The breakfast is simple but offers you enough. The only bad part of this hotel is the location, there are various sex shops next to it which i haven’t encountered any problem of and the neighborhood was quiet as it is. The price for its value is really good. The location is very central and walkable.

It's fine as long as you wanna visit the city on a budget and you're not too squeamish. The morning buffet is very basic, but it's cheap and convenient. One of the things I didn't like was that the bathroom ceiling was made out of some wood boards with big gaps in-between them and it looked really dirty behind them so I was showering with the fear that a spider would fall on my head. Also the cleaning isn't done well, the lightbulbs of the lamps (that are 20 cm away from you when you're in bed) were covered in dust and one of the closets had a fan in it that was also covered in dust. The staff was very friendly though.

This hotel would have been nice if I actually had access to wifi. I was only on the 2nd floor and had work to do but nope. Couldn't get it. I assume it is highly limited. That was a huge bummer. Otherwise the place is totally acceptable. I wouldn't pay the rates I see currently though! I think I paid around 60 euro a night.

A very old hotel , could do with refurbishment. Unfortunately we had to switch rooms the day after we arrived. First room was very small and shower was working fine on arrival, however the next day the water was freezing. Second room was a little bit bigger. Bed was very comfortable. Rooms quite dusty. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

I was so stressed reading all the bad reviews about this hotel before coming here and all i can say is that they are so OVERDRAMATIC. This is a normal hotel, with a walking-distance location from the center, with cleaning service every day, and affordable price. The breakfast is also very normal (i don’t know what people expect). The hotel has nice ambience that comes from some saved old artifacts which make you feel like you are a traveler visiting and rustic tavern during the middle ages. This preserved style of the hotel in some parts is probably the only authentic experience in the city of Colonge because almost all of the city is just filled with ugly modern buildings with no architectural style and fast-fashion shops. If I ever come back again I would most probably stay in this hotel again. For the people who are concerned about the erotic cinemas close to it, i can assure you that everyone is minding their own business. The neighborhood felt very safe to me as a young woman (and that should tell you everything)
