Hotel Richter is a quaint little establishment that's out of the way of Hamburg's usual hustle and bustle. It's easy to get to by car and has some free parking available.Rooms are pricey, but usually include breakfast. Check your booking beforehand because many rooms have shared communal bathrooms and no en suites. I was able to upgrade to a room with its own facilities, but had to pay extra due to it being a three-bed room (expensive for a solo!). The room itself was nice, clean and not too hot at about 27°C outside thanks to thick curtains. There is no air-conditioning. The en suite bathroom was a little small, especially if I had stayed there with two other travellers.Breakfast is okay, pretty standard and nothing to write home about. Staff was friendly and helpful.If you're looking for a place to stay for a quick layover, maybe give Horel Richter a try.

Would have slept in the car one more night if Mr. D didn’t help us. The kindest person on earth who saw us sleeping in the car in front of the hotel as our booking at another hotel was cancelled. Immediately booked us a room ignoring the check in timings. Guys, if u are in Hamburg, this person and hotel is the best place to stay…. Thanks Mr. D for the hospitality and kindness…

The place is lovely, the room has everything needed but keep in mind that there are some rooms with shared bathrooms which are located on the floor. People at the reception are very polite and friendly. The rooms do not have heating or cooling device but it is perfect to stay at when the season is spring/autumn 🙌🏻 there are two close bus stop as well as Lidl, Aldi and more options for food

Great spot! Very friendly staff. Perfect if your looking to explore the city and looking for somewhere to lay your head at night. 20 minutes to center with train/bus connection or 30 minutes with direct bus. Shared bathrooms clean and super water pressures in hot showers. Can't beat the price! Would Recommend!

Wow. 3 star hotel? The photos sell very well. The reality is completely different. The hotel is perfect for a good night's sleep. Otherwise you wasted your money. I didn't look closely at what I booked but at the front desk I found out I booked a room without a bathroom. But I didn't even think that there was a 3-star hotel with rooms without a bathroom. How is it possible to have 3 stars and have rooms without a bathroom? Is it a hotel or hostel? And I paid an extra 25 euros per night for the bathroom. This sleeping area is an hour's drive away by public transport to the center, but very close to the noise of the highway and surrounded by factories. The double bed consists of two small moving mattresses. And each one is covered with his own quilt. Why do they have a double bed if you can't sleep with your partner? The location of the hotel is in an industrial area. Breakfast was the same for the 3 days I stayed. The hotel is a former hall.

Lovely simple rooms. Clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Excellent staff. We came in at 11:45. They put away breakfast at 10. They served us anyway because we had been traveling for 20 plus straight hours, hungry, and exhausted. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable. On top of that, they let us check in early. Supurb service.

Though the bed wasn’t comfortable for me personally, my family slept quite well and had a good night of sleep.The breakfast was ‘sehr gut’ and refilled on the fly! Nice bread, good cheese and perfect chairs.Point of improvement, but that counts for the whole country of Germany: the coffee is not meeting our standards; I would need to have 5 soup bowls of this coffee to get the feeling of any cafeïne intake.
