A few friends from Vancouver, Canada and Manchester, UK stayed here before travelling further north. Every room was excellently positioned to provide both a beautiful view of the lakeside and yet privacy too. …

Great hotel with Nice staff and a beautyful view of the lake. Well preserved outer areas. And great breakfast where Even the dog is welcome. We loved it here. Pay the extra small fee for the lake view. Its all worth it.

This was our third visit to the hotel in two years. We really like the hotel and especially the indoor pool and the location. We were greeted by a very professional and friendly receptionist fluent in English. We got a perfect room with a wonderful view over the lake and a walk-in shower. I have a medical issue that makes it hard for me to get into a bathtub to have a shower. We can see improvements every time we visit for example the breakfast area and the bar. The breakfast is okay but a coffee machine would be nice for persons, like me, that prefer less but stronger coffee. One afternoon we planned to try coffee and cake after seen posters with a picture of a nice cake. Strangely it was the only marketing of the restaurant we noticed. The reality was only two tired cakes that in no way resembled that the cake in the poster. We left and went to another restaurang with an excellent choice of cakes. Including the type on the poster in the hotel.During our three visits to Malente we have tried many restaurants from the very good, but a bit pricey, Rodesand to the cheap but far from good, La Grotta. One night we booked seats in the hotel restaurant Louise after checking the menu on the website. At the entrance it was another menu and a third version was presented to us at the table. A bit confusing and very sloppy. As we in the last version found a plate of regional cheeses we skipped starters and went for main and cheese. The mains were okay and reasonable priced. When looking through the wine list I realised most of the wines were overpriced. We decided on a Conde de Valdemar Tempranillo, one of the cheapest at 40 €. The wine was served way too warm. Instead of 16-17 it was approximately 22-23 degrees and tasted a bit bland. I hoped some air should improve it but the lady servering the wine began to put back the screw-cap before I stoped her. Very strange behaviour for a waiter. I know the brand has wines at different price points and after checking I realised this was a 6-7€ wine sold for 40€. A very hefty markup! When the two plates regional cheese arrived we expected a presentation of where in the region they were produced. But no presentation was given. And the cheeses were standard supermarket varieties without any character, like the ones we get for breakfast. By no means worth 2 X 20 €. And the region, we realised, was more European Union, rather than Schleswig-Holstein. With the cheese plate was a fig marmelad served that tasted so strong of ginger that it would kill the taste of any cheese. It would go better with a hot Indian dish. The restaurant has a great location, design and size. It could be as popular as Bootshaus am Dieksee with the right concept and marketing along the walk path where most of the visitors to the village passes during the morning. We will surely come back to hotel but probably not to the Louise restaurant as it is managed now.

Hotel:The reason for our visit was for my wife's birthday and this hotel and location looked perfect for us to celebrate together.Upon arrival at the hotel where greeted very nice by the reception staff, they were really warmly welcoming and helpful with all our questions....Great service...🤗The hotel itself is very nice, clean and has some great features, and is very picturesque against the lakes backdrop. Currently, some of the rooms are being renovated, which will for sure improve the hotel in the future.Room:We were located on the first floor room no1.The room size was plenty, and the view overlooking the lake with also our own balcony was awesome 👌 the beds were very comfortable, and the room was very well presented and supper clean.Amenities:There is also a very nice restaurant within the hotel. Note if you would like a table book in advance and ask for a lakeside table view 😉The indoor heated pool, jacuzzi, and sauna were superb...Also overlooking the lake... This was a plus plus for us...Also located on the first floor and very close to our room 🏊‍♀️👍Parking:There is parking at the hotel, note, not so many spaces, however there is also parking directly outside the hotel and it was supper cheap, again not so many spaces.Location:Simply perfect 👍 right overlooking the lake, supper centrally located to the local restaurant 2 min walk and only 5min walk into the town which has a very nice park, shops, restaurants and bars.Tips:Book a lake view room definitely worth the extra few euros.Value for money:Excellent considering it location, amenities and very friendly staff.Would I recommend:Definitely yesWould I go again:We have already booked another stay in August 👍This time we have booked two lake view rooms as we plan to surprise my mother and farther 🤫Thank you for a wonderful stay. See you again soon 🤗

Value for money at the lakeshore in Malente. A bit dated kurhotel back from some decades but clean and with fantastic views over the lake. Beds in room dated but ok. Nice restaurant with white linen table cloths. Food above average but not more. Will return if attractive price again.

Lovely lovely lovely. Everything about this hotel, the location, the view, the food, the staff, the interiors, truly everything is lovely. We originally booked a single night on our way to Sweden. However, we extended our stay to include an additional 4 days. We’ll be back for sure!
