Negative points:1. The bathroom (especially the shower cubicle) smelled musty, the carpet in the room didn't look cleaned. There was an empty bottle lying around under the bed from the last residents, some of the furniture was really dusty and a table leg was sticky. So the cleanliness was really a big minus point. We didn't feel comfortable in the room at all.2. WiFi cannot be used on the 3rd floor!3. Parking costs an extra €4 per day4. Drinking water system is only activated during eating timePositive points:1. All dishes were really delicious! The selection was large and dining area was spacious and clean.2. Nice employees3. Great sports facility4. Perfect location to the city center and Nideggen Castle

The beds were less comfortable and had holes in the mattress cover. Clean sanitary facilities (great shower by the way).Breakfast was fine as well as lunch and dinner. Location is really great, nice village, in the middle of nature.

The youth hostel was very old and the rooms smelled musty. You had to make your own bed and take your own towels. The place inside was quite run down (not like the advertising pictures) and I had to do a cleaning all around to prevent insects and kill a few. The food was really bad as every dinner was an “abendbrot” with just bread, cold cuts, cheese and a little salad, carrot and tomato. We had the same thing two dinners and one lunch in a row, even being part of a larger group. On another note, there is no need to stay in this little town for more than a day (day trip even) unless you are part of a program or trip.

The Jugi is on the edge of Nideggen around the corner from the castle. At our time, the main access road to Nideggen was closed. Unfortunately we were not informed about the route (bicycle). 10km detour. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly and accommodating. We were allowed to park the bikes in a meeting room. The price is OK.The rooms have a bathroom and toilet. We had a shared room with 2 bunk beds.

Positive:Great environment with a variety of excursion destinations for every age group - we had a car and didn't use public transport.Beehive and home-made honey with a friendly beekeeper. Great view from the roof terrace.Negative: Paid parking lot change code without passing on information. Mattress protectors cannot be disinfected, no fitted sheets. Breakfast basic highlights 1x apple spritzer, 1x bananas in 7 days, apples daily.A traffic mirror would be useful at the car exit.Night entrance was more of a permanent entrance

I had to stay there with my family. Our room was on the fourth floor, right in the corner. We therefore had a wonderful view of the castle and the skyline. The location is also perfect for exploring the Eifel by car. Definitely recommended. However, in my opinion, the food could be varied. We were always offered the same thing at breakfast.

AModern youth hostel, but some details reminded me of “before”. So a nice mix of then and now. The location is great. Very good hiking opportunities starting directly from the JH. The tower offers a very beautiful view of the Eifel, the Rurtal and Nideggen Castle.

Used the camper parking lot. This has quite a slope, but there was enough space to stand in a straight position. The staff is super nice!We set up the projector especially for us during the European Championships so that we could watch Germany-Spain☺😎🇩🇪
