We went there for dinner today thanks to the voucher book. We found a village inn with very fresh food. We think it's great that there are seasonal vegetables and everything is fresh. Logically, you have to plan for a wait! But then there is a very tasty meal. We come often now! Thanks for the friendly service. Astrid and Hans Josef

This family-run business impresses with its quality in a rustic atmosphere! We can't rate the rooms because we didn't stay overnight, although a little nap after this sumptuous meal would have been nice.

We were here again for dinner and we enjoyed it very much.According to the season, there was an asparagus soup and the main course was schnitzel with hunter's and pepper sauce. The side dish was fried potatoes and homemade spaetzle. No matter which of the dishes, they tasted excellent. A big compliment to the kitchen here, but also in the restaurant itself you are served and entertained very lovingly. We would be happy to come here again.

We were traveling with our voucher book and chose it because of the menu.Cheeky schnitzel for my wife, two pieces, freshly made with decent fries and for the gentleman the steak pan, with perfectly cooked meat, really good. For dessert, Pslatdchinken and pancakes...Plus nice, funny and friendly operators - what more could I want as a customer?By the way, we'll come back even without a voucher because the quality and price are absolutely the same.

On October 2nd, 2023 we visited the Gasthof Henseler via the voucher book, which we had not yet heard of and which we would not have otherwise had on our radar. I can only rate the restaurant, I have to leave the hotel out.How to get there: The inn is located in Wachtberg in the Villip district. It is located on a village street. Parking is available either in the limited parking bays on the street, a fixed parking space directly at the house or for hotel guests in the inner courtyard. From the outside it makes a well-kept impression. The interior: From the inside, the inn gives the impression of a pub with food on offer. At first glance there are around 10 tables where you can sit comfortably on benches and chairs. What could always be a bit of a disadvantage here: Since the bar takes up the center of the room, it could get very loud here on weekends, so it's not for families with children or if you want to have a good conversation. You don't necessarily expect to be well cooked here either. A rustic village tavern, but unfortunately it's getting a bit old. 80s style. The drinks: there are the usual alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Bitburger on tap, Kölsch, Franziskaner, Paulaner. The food: In preparation for the evening, my wife and I wanted to take a look at the menu on the homepage. This turned out to be extremely difficult because the menu is advertised under “Dining” but cannot be found there. It can only be downloaded under “Welcome” and “Downloads”. I also have a hard time uploading a picture of a dish that doesn't exist there. In the picture you can see a salmon embedded in potatoes. The dish looks very high quality and gave me an appetite for fish. However, it doesn't exist there. Schnitzel and steaks make up the majority of the menu. Additionally, pretzel pizza, i.e. pizza on pretzel dough. I chose a cordon bleu with fries and my wife chose a gypsy schnitzel. The schnitzels were handmade and were made in the kitchen while we chatted with the boss, who was both serving and knitting in between (very charming, we don't have that anymore these days). The sauce was also completely homemade, the fries were a very good finished product with potato peel. The only downer: unfortunately both of our schnitzels were very salty. Otherwise there was really nothing to complain about and we were more than pleasantly surprised. We wouldn't have expected this before entering the inn. Conclusion: An inn that you have to get involved with as a stranger to the village and then you will be more than rewarded. The operating family (father, mother, son) is super nice, there was even a Bahlsen biscuit with the cutlery. They talk to the guests and are restaurateurs through and through. You always have the feeling of being welcome, something that is increasingly lacking in restaurant chains in particular. In addition, you get really good food here for a really low price that I still wonder why it's so cheap. We left our voucher stuck and paid the full price. It was all worth it.We thank you for the lovely evening.

Quaint restaurant with super delicious cuisine. Here the boss cooks himself and, above all, freshly. The landlady is really nice, you're not just a guest. While you're talking to her, you can hear the schnitzels being made in the kitchen. The little surprise with the cutlery is also a great idea.
