Great for anyone who doesn't want to sleep at night. We had a marten right above us. The loft beds creak extremely loudly at the slightest turn. The “mattresses” are more uncomfortable than any ultralight trekking sleeping mat. The doors also couldn't be closed from the inside, so involuntary visitors wouldn't have been a problem. It's better to spend 5-30€ more for a real hotel.

Room was filled with ants when we arrived back at it, and staff did not respond when called during open hours.

Super clean buildings, very friendly team, good beds and a solid breakfast. The absolute killer, however, is the location, right on the old city wall, in the picturesque old town, but at the same time quiet and not overrun with tourists. The historical building structure also makes the hostel something special.Strong recommendation for anyone who wants to explore the old city and the surrounding area at a reasonable price.Super clean buildings, very friendly team, good beds and a solid breakfast. Didn't actually come here to stay but ..It's the toymaker's house from Chitty! 🎬 🤗 So you have to use your imagination a little 🤭 but it was filmed over 50 yrs ago...don't miss out on seeing the Double Bridge too, (where Chitty lands) it's only just outside the town & is still a great find 😊

Sorry but what is that? Bunk bed rooms are offered as twin rooms. At breakfast you have to put down the chairs and set the table yourself. The breakfast was a complete disgrace. No fruit etc. When asked about eggs they said “only on Sundays”. And what wasn't there on Sunday? Eggs. The whole ambience is a disgrace for the quite a bit of money.

The location right in the center, the buildings' exteriors match the surroundings - these are the only advantages. The rooms are dark (tiny window), dull, neglected. The bedding was ironed but dull and disgusting. Towels look similar. It's scary to touch it. You have to bring your own bedding from the dirty basement of one of the buildings. Bathrooms are moldy. The entire grout in the shower is black because of the fungus. Instead of a shower head, there is a strange pipe sticking out of the wall and there is no way to set a gentle stream. The toilet was full of stones and brown inside. Mattresses uncomfortable. Strange method of closing the door. Once in the room, there is no way to check whether they are really locked. The breakfast was so-so, the cheese was quite good, but the cold meats were weak. Good juices, very poor quality coffee. Vegetables include only cucumbers and tomatoes. Generally, little variety of food. But it's full of wasps. Unfortunately, the dining room is also dirty. In the morning, the chairs were on tables, so we ate at the table, which was not even wiped after contact with the surface on which someone was sitting. The cabinet where the food was placed was also dirty.Generally dirty and stinky, I'm afraid to touch anything. I don't recommend it, disgusting experience. There are plenty of accommodation offers in the old town.

The staff is friendly and at work. That's fine... Choose this place if you are a student or traveling on a limited budget. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and buy 20-30 more items and stay somewhere else. We had difficulty finding the location of the buildings on the map. When we checked in to stay, we were also made a member of the international hostel association😅Get well soon, 3.5 euros per person. So even if you have a private room, it is incredibly uncomfortable. Cleaning is not very good. You buy sheets, you make a bed. Since it was also a hostel, the shared toilets were on the floor of our room and the corridor smelled incredibly bad. The only good part is the breakfast. On top of all this, luckily you won't go hungry👍🏻⭐️

A few cons...Membership is required, something we missed while booking the room online and then had to pay for while checking in. The other two people who checked in at the same time as us were also unaware of that requirement, so seems to be a frequent issue.Quite annoying was that there was no check-in info in the emails we received, and then when we got there at 3pm there was a sign that check in was only possible 8-10 and 17-19. It worked out ok for us but would've been an issue if we'd booked a tour during that time. (Thankfully we could store our luggage in lockers in between). My husband and I booked a private two bed room which ended up being bunk beds, would've been nice if that had been explicitly stated while booking...Also the rooms were clean and neat but the building is old so there were 2 spiders chilling by the window, not a problem for us but if someone has arachnophobia just a heads up :)All staff members were super friendly though, the location is really nice, they had games in the common areas, and the breakfast was good (and included for free!).
