Check-in took 1 hour. The longest check-in we have ever experienced! Then, the medieval house was old and dirty, at least in the stairwell. The rooms are very small, but at least furnished with a lot of love. …

We received a very warm welcome. The rooms are a bit rustic, but totally comfortable. I also find the location quite pleasant, as you can quickly get to the lake and at the same time not be in the middle of the hustle and bustle. We had a room that faced the street, so you could clearly hear the traffic. But that was the only negative point for me. I'm also very sensitive to smells but nothing smelled smelly or old here as described in many previous reviews. I would come back at any time!

What name the hotel actually has remains unclear to me, Rauchfang or Hotel zum See.The details of the room size and the furnishings differ greatly from the description, it is a bit old, but we still had a pleasant stay. The staff is very friendly and tries hard to make your stay as pleasant as possible. There is a small breakfast buffet, not a huge selection but everything is fresh and of good quality.

I’m not sure why others are giving such bad reviews. As I walked in I was immediately greeted by friendly staff. There was no odor (other older reviews mentioned that) and the dining area was very clean and cute. My room was spacious and very clean. The bed was okay, I usually like softer beds but it’s not the worst bed I’ve slept on. The room was warm at night and the included breakfast was great in the morning! This was a great location to walk to the meet up for the Christmas market bus pick up. The price for the hotel was much better than others in the area. I would stay here again!

Older Black Forest guesthouse, near Galaxy. If you like rustic things, this is the place for you.The only disadvantage was that we had rooms directly facing the street and train station... nothing else to complain about

Disappointing. When we arrived we had to fight hard to get the rooms we had booked and paid for. The tourist tax was set arbitrarily but is refundable. …

A night in hell!!Let's move on to the general state of the hotel, that's not the most important thing for me, the decoration comes straight out of a distant, very distant era, let's admit! If you have a question to ask before your reservation, forget it because no one takes the trouble to answer, neither on the phone, nor by email... in short, there is service, that's obvious!Where it seriously starts to worry is when you smell the very unpleasant smell emanating from the corridors, the room smells old, the blackout curtains seem to have been knitted by hand 200 years ago, hello the light Morning !The beds? I think the mattresses which were supposed to be 5 cm thick are as comfortable as a concrete floor! My back still hurts. Run away, there are so many competing hotels that you will inevitably find better!
