The site states overnight accommodation with comfort and luxury. We experienced that differently. We got a small room with a very low ceiling and it was very hot. Received a free upgrade after complaining. The room was larger, but there was no comfort or luxury here either. Everything except the (hard) bed was outdated. The website said it included an extensive breakfast, while we had to pay 3.50 for a bowl of fruit and no less than 16.50 for smoked salmon. So all in all it was disappointing. Well located in Wijk aan Zee, but within close proximity of Tata Steel.

What do you give your wife as a gift when she turns 60? Lots of love of course! And a woman's love also goes through the stomach. What a wonderful experience we had at Puur Zee and in the villa of Boutique hotel de Klugte. It started with the first phone call and the arrival at the reception. As if we were visiting good friends. The villa was actually too nice to just sleep there.... The romantic package booked was classic with a nod to appropriate frumpiness, towels folded into Swans, the rose and heart balloon, just wonderful! The team really went out of their way to make us feel welcome, from start to finish. The menu composed with care and courage, accompanied by beautiful wines, the explanation of both wines and the plates served, the conviviality, professionalism, service orientation, but above all the genuine warmth of everyone who served us at the table (up to and including the Master Chef Imko and his wonderful wife Cathy themselves) have made a dinner experience and special night away an unforgettable experience. We laughed and most of all enjoyed it! It's a shame that we will be leaving the Netherlands soon, because I would like to use this date night every month. Had a very nice lunch on Sunday afternoon at Puur Zee. Beautiful dishes, personal service and a beautiful classic ambiance. Accompanying wine arrangement was spot on. Also nice, no music and few guests this Sunday afternoon. Highly recommended!

Beautiful building, excellent rooms and a good bed. There is no air conditioning in the room, but there is a fan. The rooms have been renovated, but the bathrooms have not. It's a great place to stay for a night.The restaurant only has fish on the menu. We had a private room with 2 tables for 8 people (we were a large group) and started the dinner with an aperitif and some nuts. When we sat down at the table, we were served the appetizer and the appetizer snack. The rest of the dinner, 7 courses including wine pairing, followed. In the photos you can see the menu that was served. All dishes were well prepared. They were classic dishes with beautiful fish. Unfortunately, this classic preparation did not make it very exciting or surprising. A pre-dessert was also served before dessert. Both dishes were really good. The matching wines went well with it. These were well explained by the maitre d. She also knew a lot about the wines.The reason for giving 3 stars is, in addition to the lack of surprising flavors, the long sitting time of 5 hours. We sat down at the table around half past seven and around half past twelve coffee and friandises were served. The friandises were mediocre. It tasted like they had been used up for a while. I understand that serving a larger group requires some extra logistics, but it shouldn't take that long. In addition, they could have come by just a little more often to see if everything was still as desired (or to add wines).Still, I would recommend Puur Zee for once. Real fishing enthusiasts can spend a great evening here. People are hospitable and the food is really good. But this one time is enough for me.

In a word, Great Puur Zee is a top company in everything from arrival to departure. Very friendly staff, and they all understand their profession. We ordered the 7-course seafood experience package. Every dish was a painting in itself and a great taste sensation. Don't forget the matching wines, really sublime. Outer category. This is really a very nice place. Both the hotel and the restaurant. We had booked the villa in the garden and then you really have your own place. For example, our breakfast was served the next morning on our own veranda for a small surcharge. Definitely try the house smoked salmon! It's so good!But we came mainly for dinner. And that is really unique. Insanely beautiful dishes with unique flavors and unique preparation methods are created by the chef and his team.In addition, the service is wonderfully relaxed and not too stiff, but with a good balance between polite, neat, cheerful and informal. The right approach to the guests. Almost as if a bond is formed on the evening itself. Extremely pleasant.The sommelier really has an exceptionally good story with every glass she serves with the wine pairing. Super fun and also interesting.In short, you must visit this place. Preferably with an overnight stay. The next morning after breakfast, you can simply walk to the beach within 5 minutes.
