The room was a disappointment, we paid 400 euros for 2 nights, so you expect some comfort. The room looked exactly like the internet photos: small, bad mattresses, a lot of noise from the street (poor insulation/basement), no cupboard or chair, light in the hall that stays on 24 hours. The neighborhood is cozy and the people who work there are friendly, but the price/quality is NOT ok. One must be honest and correct and that was not the case with our reservation (tulip room or rather tulip cupboard). We love Amsterdam but this hostal really needs to check its price/quality.Sarah Hutsebaut

The staff is super nice and helpful!!The hostel is smaller than I thought and the room including the bathroom is also smaller than in all the other hostels I have been in so far. Unfortunately I have to deduct 2 points because of the size of the room and the alarm that goes off every time the door is opened. So: Better use earplugs!!Nevertheless, the stay was very nice because the hostel is very centrally located. The only other thing to note is that the bathroom often smelled unpleasant. Hopefully the issue will be addressed soon as I already read this in another comment.I can recommend for a short stay :)

Stayed in a private room, which was nice. The location is very convenient - almost opposite a tram stop, or 20 minute walk into the centre. You’re given a code for the front door and your room door, which is helpful not needing keys etc. …

Stayed for 3 night in a single room, slept badly every single one of them because of noise outside or on the hallway. Tiny room, even tinier bathroom where you have to squeeze yourself on the toilet. No room service/cleaning during my stay. Paid about 500 for the 3 nights. Ridiculous. On the plus side: each room has its own cool vibe, and the location is fine.I had booked a couple of months in advance and was not allowed to cancel one month ahead. Another bummer. The bed was spacious for me being single, but don't see how two grown ups could sleep there comfortably.

You'd be forgiven for thinking this place was purposely designed as a sick joke or psychology experiment. We started our trip in Amsterdam, at Clink-Noord, for 3 nights. I found the staff there friendly, the rooms quiet, the bar had decent food and drinks at reasonable prices. I would go there again. On our last night in Europe we tried Clink-coco. Wow.This place was so bad that it was actually hilarious, but only because we only had to be there for a single night. If we would have had to stay longer it would have been horrifying. For some reason at Coco, there's what I can only describe as a rape whistle alarm system on every door. We were in a six person dorm, and every time someone would leave our room, this hilariously loud and terrible alarm sound would go off. I have NO idea why. This did not happen at all in Clink-Noord. You could hear it going off in other dorms as well.Every aspect of the place was terrible. The door to the bathroom in our dorm creaked like it was screaming for help. So all throughout the night you'd hear it anytime someone had to tinkle. The main entrance door also pulls back in a way that makes it easy to slam - you'll hear that too. My bed was crazy uncomfortable, and the ladder to it (top bunk of 3) creaked of course and made me wonder if I was going to die by falling off or having it collapse.Sooo yeah, I can recommend Noord but not Coco. Stay away from da Coco.
