Just great and the restaurant is great

I've been coming here at least 4 times a year for 3 years now - and I always immediately feel at home.The staff are all very friendly and always strive to fulfill the guest's every wish.The cuisine is first class. No matter whether Mario or Dominik is in the kitchen - the food is always a culinary delight (by the way, I'm back here at the moment and I'm looking forward to the mussels that I'm enjoying today)I have sometimes read very negative comments in other reviews. Incomprehensible to me. Of course, not everything can always be perfect. But - if you can talk, you will be helped. I'm quite sure of that 👍Addition: The mussels were divine 😋

This review refers to 2024, there is a shortage of staff throughout Germany and unfortunately also in the Hotel Nordstern. The room service only comes to clean every 2 days This can lead to longer waiting times when ordering drinks. We stayed in the guest house opposite the hotel. The room was actually too small for 10 days, we should have taken that into account. Very large bed with a very good mattress. Unfortunately there was no table in the room, bedside tables were made from painted fruit crates. 1 double cupboard, no luggage rack. The bathroom with shower was clean and quite ok. There were enough towels and they were changed at any time upon request. Terrace with umbrella and 2 chairs, veranda door with mosquito screen. (There were a lot of mosquitoes)There is a street between the hotel and the guesthouse. Traffic is slowed down to just 70 km/h. That's why it's very, very loud when the window is open. It starts at 4:30 a.m. There's nothing more to complain about.The day started with a very large continental breakfast buffet, lots of sausage, lots of fish, unfortunately little cheese, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, soft eggs, sausages. Lots of rolls and breads, toast and cakes. What caught our attention was the very large selection of fresh fruit, freshly prepared Bircher muesli or rice porridge with compote every day. Coffee or tea, as much as you wanted. The service staff were absolutely on their toes, they were constantly clearing things up and refilling the empty ones. Times 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. daily.We had booked half board. We had a buffet 3 times with lots of fish and meat, potatoes, vegetables, vegetarian cookies... Otherwise the pension menu, which always included a starter soup, main course, to choose from 1x fish, or 1x meat, or 1x meatless. Finally, a sweet dessert. Salad from the buffet was obligatory included.Here, too, the service always tried to serve all guests as quickly as possible. Therefore, it would simply be unfair to criticize one or two waiting times. Times for guesthouse guests 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., ala carte guests until 8:00 p.m., restaurant opening until 10:00 p.m.Behind the restaurant there is a large lake, in front of it a sandy beach with beach chairs and loungers/benches. Unfortunately this area was mainly used for standing, walking back and forth as a smoking area and for cell phone calls. Unfortunately, there wasn't really a beach feeling, which is why we only used this area once.The bus leaves the hotel.We didn't use the wellness area.Conclusion: Price-performance ratio is absolutely fine. Staff very friendly and helpful despite the stress. Dining morning and evening with 5 stars. Booking again is not ruled out, but then with room advice.

We were allowed to meet from August 19th to August 22nd. let yourself be pampered. We received a very friendly welcome and were accommodated in a lovely little house. The breakfast and the evening 3 course menu were a dream. Service 1A + sauna and whirlpool 👍🏼Thank you very much for the wonderful stay. We will definitely come back and can recommend you 100%. Unfortunately, my review is always reported by the owner and taken offline.Unfortunately, this corresponds to my/our experiences!In my opinion:Health hazard in the guesthouse of the honorable and traditional hotel.With dog: OLD BUILDING / PENSION = flophouse (👎🏻) without dog in the hotel!As a pet owner, you will be transferred from the hotel to the guesthouse without asking and the difference will be kindly credited to you. You only find out when you arrive and check in from 3 p.m.The owner thinks it's all okay and the condition of room 23 is, in my opinion, dangerous to health!So no deduction for mold, defective joints, open wires on the doorbell, no lighting suitable for bathrooms, swollen plasterboard and permanent moisture in the room. The extra bed for 47 euros was crooked and crooked, a camp bed would have been more comfortable.P.S: They only gave me the difference between the hotel price and the guesthouse price. I would NEVER have booked the guesthouse because we looked for and booked a hotel. I think you might go on vacation at some point in your life and you will be accommodated similarly “well”.

We went to dinner at Nordstern on September 7th, 2024.Very good parking and wonderful ambience.This time we sat on the terrace with a view of the idyllic lake and the beach lounge.The food was very good as usual.The staff was friendly, quick and very personable.We really enjoyed the evening and will definitely come back.

We were there on September 7th. 2024 this time only there to eat, with a nice place on the terrace and it was really very tasty, regardless of whether it was fish or meat, everyone was satisfied, the staff was very friendly and attentive but something was missing, Marcel, with his eye for the essentials , the special open manner and always a good saying on his lips. Here and there the spider webs should also be removed,That makes it even more pleasant. Otherwise everything was nice as usual.

We vacationed in the hotel for a week and I have to say we wouldn't do it again. The room was clean so far. But the condition of the beds is not good at all. Totally worn out. You can notice the feathers on the back. The chairs on the balcony almost fell apart. The fridge is a joke, it doesn't cool properly. Then there is no air conditioning in the room. It was always warmer in the room than outside. Man was always sweating. It also couldn't be ventilated properly because the fly screen didn't let in almost any air. When you opened the grille there were a bunch of insects in the room. The stairwell to the room wasn't really cleaned. Spiders and other insects everywhere. This became more and more day by day. The breakfast was ok. The only thing that doesn't work is that the entire breakfast buffet was full of flies. It should have been covered. Dinner was good for that. And the service was ok too. But all in all I wouldn't go on holiday there again

Was spoken to in German upon arrival. You are in Germany, so another language is not an option 😉Not a problem at all, because it was all very clear.Large room, only air conditioning is missing. The terrace was overgrown with spiders. That was a shame, because the weather was great to sit outside.Beds were soft, large and fine.We had half board and we travel a lot and that is actually always not so good.As a starter; smoked salmon on leaf lettuce.Main course; chicken in béarnaise sauce & plaice fillet in wine sauce.Dessert: watermelon and strawberry ice cream.We had a really nice meal.Friendly help, we were completely surprised!!! Absolutely great!We hoped for a swimming pond, but that was an "ordinary" pond, but actually we were pleasantly surprised.Of course it's all delicious in German, but highly recommended.!!!!

Hello. I spent a week on holiday in this hotel.First of all, service staff tip top, no question. Great evening meal. Breakfast buffet is also ok without all these fruit flies. Coffee reminds me of my Bundeswehr time zero taste :-)unfortunately now comes room. Were not a hit, decently clean yes.but no air conditioning, you can forget the fridge, the rooms above the so-called theme heat up when you enter the room. you can't sleep at night when it's raining, very poorly insulated. Fly screens are so good that no mosquitoes or flies get in, but unfortunately no oxygen either, beds are sagging, back pain is inevitable, the entire hallway is full of insects, not even the hallway was cleaned during the week. On the balcony the material has already rocked down so much that it falls apart if you look at it askew. It's good that buses stop and take you everywhere or you take the car if you want to see something. There isn't much to see at the hotel, so you have to drive further away.
