This place is dirty, ungealthy and the manager has no common sense on customer service. I stayed there for one hour and I got bitten by bed bugs. When I went down stairs to complain, the manager said “lots of people sleep in those beds, its normal there are bed bugs”. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Very good service, the place is in a perfect location, close to the van Gogh museum, the room was comfortable and the staff was super friendly, they let us stay a little longer at no cost and we were very grateful. Anything we needed was resolved without a problem. The beds are comfortable and we were grateful that my partner and I were left alone in the room... 1 minute walk from a tram stop. If you ask for a hair dryer, they will give it to you at the reception. I don't know why it has such a low score but we had a very good experience.

BED BUGS!!!!!!!Do not come here unless you want to be eaten alive, and ripped off. I stayed in a 6-person room for one night, and awoke the next morning to a bedbug crawling on my sheets. Throughout the day my whole back and arm became itchy; turns out they got me all over my back.Luckily I had my phone right next to me, and captured a video, which I showed to the front desk receptionist. He told me he couldn't give me a refund, and that the manager would have to do that. I asked when the manager would be in, and he said that the guy manages 5 properties, so he won't be in, but that I should email him. I emailed him the video, and photos, and asked for a refund, and I have yet to hear a response from him. The receptionist moved me to another room, and said they would clean the room, but I was there for a while and I didn't' see them doing a deep clean of the room.Also, there are no lockers in the rooms, so I had to go out and find a chain, so I could lock my bags to the bed frame. I did not feel safe, leaving my stuff in my room, but I had no choice. Luckily, I had no issues in that department.All in all, the place was disgusting. I've seen crack houses in Detroit that look nicer that this place. The staff acted like nothing was their problem, and repeatedly said the room was non-refundable, to which I responded "It should be non-refundable if you guys delivered what I paid for. I didn't pay for a room with bed bugs", I explained that I paid with a credit card (which they try to convince you they cannot do; but they can), and that they can simply reverse the transaction. But he told me to call my credit card company to cancel the transaction.In short, I learned two lessons. ALWAYS read the reviews before staying somewhere. And, if there's a better-looking option for $5-10, extra, do it; it's well worth the price. This place put a major damper on my trip to Amsterdam; don't ruin your trip by staying here.

Location is fantastic for being right outside of alot of busy city life, park outside amazing bar around the corner. The service and cleanliness is horrid though, body hair in the beds that clearly are not cleaned unless they are needed to be cleaned. Clearly a make money off people without the slightest care business but you get what you pay for. Safe enough

Absolutely the worst hostel ever!I travel more than 30 years, I know many, many hostels in Holland, Europe, USA and the rest of the world! This one is absolutely the worst in every way! A true dungeon in all of its glory! I had to call -in the middle of the night- the police just to take my money back and go to a decent hostel to stay! The first -and the only one- night I spent there I was sleepless cause I was calling the police, and arguing all night with the night receptionist of this place!The next morning the hostel manager arrived and gave me back the rest of my money!

Appallingly rude welcome displaying thinly veiled anti-tourist sentiment, with the dodgy addition that full payment has to be made by cash-only, falsely advertised the rooms, wafer thin mattresses, and moth-eaten rags as 'towels'. ||There is literally zero reason to go here and every reason to avoid; however cheap it is: Do. Not. Go.

This hostel is in a great location and the staff is good.
The main issues are that the bathrooms are very small, there is little space to put items while showering or changing, and that the no smoking rule doesn't seem to be well enforced.

BED BUGS!!!Sept 14 morning found bed bug bites at my back near right shoulder. Sept 15 morning had bites at my left arm and face. They haven't completely recovered after 9 days as showing in the attached photos. The hotel responded to my email saying that "we checked the room with you and we foud nothing."I stayed 3 nights in room 5 on the 3rd floor and moved to the bed next to mine after the Mexican guy left, with the sheets from my original bed because the bunk bed was short and narrow. The staff said the bugs must came from that Mexican guy! In the morning of 15th in the reception room, a young girl was complaining that she had bed bug bites on her body.She was also asked to pay cash after arriving like me and the Mexican guy. Only after booking was confirmed - unrefundable, you would see a line that they only accept cash. The hotel owner - a Moroccan who owns a few hostels in Amsterdam has been trying not paying tax to the government by asking for cash payment. The room rate for Sept 13 and 14 were three times higher than the night of Sept 12.And when I tried to write a review, it showed that I didn't stay there and the hotel must have done something wired on Booking.com and tried not letting me to write a review because they know that the truth would be revealed. There are so many negative reviews about this hostel about bed bugs but none are on Booking.com. My photos attached to Booking.com review were not approved by the website because they said that were not comply with their content guidelines. Booking.com has not done quality control properly. There must be other people who wanted to write true reviews but were unable to.
